OBJECTIVE
A/An Safety Coordinator/Supervisor position in construction with a company that will utilize previous experience and skills to meet business objectives and support commitments to customer service, employee development, and continuous improvement.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Safety Supervisor, Turner Industries, LTD / Harmony LLC. Sulphur, LA. (April 2003 to Present). Citgo Lake Charles Refinery COP/Tier II Project. Oversee and assist in implementing a successful safety program on the COP/Tier II new construction grass-root project which has achieved over 2.7 million safe work hours with no lost time or recordable injuries. Project scheduled for completion to gross 4 million man hours. Project manpower exceeds 1200 sub-contractor employees. Project involved major civil infrastructure work, structural steel erection of the crude and vaccum heater structure and associated piperacks. Heavy lifting and rigging setting crude, vaccum towers and flare stack involving critical lift planning, largest lift of crude tower exceeded 800 tons. Role as a lead safety representative on site directed the safety team of 7 safety professionals in performing investigations and documentation of all incidents, injuries, property damage, and near-miss incidents on project. Involved in all phases of project from grass root to start-up and commissioning of completed operation units. Also, analyze circumstances for "root causes" and failure analysis. Provide site specific training and orientation for new employees. Assist in the evaluation of injured employees and ensures that the appropriate medical attention is received. Ensure that the company health and safety programs complies with client, local and federal regulations. Coordinate with client and jobsite personnel to implement compliance programs for OSHA regulations, such as: benzene, respiratory protection, assured grounding, hearing conservation, fire protection safety and lock-out/tag-out, including monitoring, training and documentation.

Safety Supervisor, James-Timec International Inc. Baytown, TX. (February 2003 to March 2003). Mobile Exxon Baton Rouge, LA. PCLA #3 and HHLA Turnaround - Directed site safety over the exchanger bundle extraction and installation work, along with associated piping equipment. Conducted daily safety meetings with company personnel, clients, and subcontractors. Reviewed and documented JSA's and Toolbox safety meetings. Ensured that good safety performance was maintained throughout project.

Safety Coordinator, Turner Industries, LTD / International Maintenance Corporation, Sulphur, LA. (October 2001 to February 2003). Overseeing the safety program for special projects/turnarounds, outages throughout Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. These projects included Citgo Refinery, Conoco/Phillips, Louisiana Pigments, Basel, Entergy Power Plant and Dupont. During this time for approximately 8 months was assigned as site safety manager for the Entergy Lake Charles Nelson Plant to assist in preparing the power plant to meet OSHA-VPP approval while going through the application process. Overseen the safety during all boiler revamps, outages and maintenance by sub-contractors at the Entergy Power Plant. Also Safety supervisor over the Dupont SRW Orange, Tx. plant for 3 month duration on the Ethylene Shutdown overseeing 6 safety technicians and ensuring the safety performance of approximately 500 construction employee's. All projects were completed with no lost time incidents/injuries.

Safety Supervisor, J.V. Piping Specialty Welding & Turnarounds Services, Inc. La Porte, Texas. (September 2001 to October 2001). Paulsboro, New Jersey - Valero Refinery, Crude Unit # 7 Turnaround- Directed site safety on the revamp of the vacuum towers and associated piping installation. Conducted daily safety meetings with company personnel, clients, and subcontractors. Wrote and issued work permits for safe work, hot work, and confine space entries. Reviewed and documented JSA's and Toolbox safety meetings. 20,000 + man-hours worked with no lost time incident/recordables.

Site Safety Manager, POWERHOUSE SERVICES, INC. Beaumont, TX. (January 1999 to September 2001). Specialty service contractor specializing in the fabrication, construction, revamp and maintenance of power plants, boilers, cogens and furnaces in the power utility and petrochemical industry. Manage all site safety activities including new hire orientation, employee safety training and pre-employment drug screening. Along with managing the safety department assist in human resource activities. Update and revised all company safety programs in accordance with OSHA and current regulatory revisions.

Saint Croix. Virgin Islands - Hovensa Refinery Bechtel International. Inc Delayed Coker Unit Project - Overseeing the construction of the Delayed Coker Heaters. Also working in a safety partnership with Hovensa, Bechtel, and OSHA for the duration of the project. Project completed with 98,000 man-hours worked with no lost time injuries or recordables.

Port Comfort, Texas - Formosa Plastics Extruder Expansion project- Worked 45,000 man-hours with no lost time injuries. Conducted routine safety inspections and PPE assessments for required job task in operating process units. Obtained and issued proper work permits for specific job task. Performed all job duties in compliance with OSHA regulations.

Sweeney, Texas -Phillips 66 SCLP Expansion Project - Worked 67,000 man-hours on the construction of the HRSG Cogen Boiler and Steam Turbine Generator with no recordables and no lost time incidents.

Port Arthur, Texas - Clark Refinery HOUP Project - Worked 55,000 man-hours with no recordables or lost time incidents.

Orange, Texas - DuPont SRW Ethylene Unit - Conducted routine compliance audits on contract construction personnel. Lead safety team on accident investigation and near misses. Work in relation with DuPont safety department to provide a safe and accident-free work place.

Beaumont, Texas - Mobil O&A BOE. USC-1 Furnace Expansion Project - Ensured regulatory compliance with OSHA construction standards CFR 1926. Conducted site specific job duties under the direction of Bechtel safety department. Worked 270,000 man-hours with no lost time injuries. Worked day to day with client to provide a safe and accident-free work environment.

Occupational and Environmental Health Manager, SAFETY MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (September 1998 to January 1999). Managed departmental services overseeing environmental, industrial hygiene and safety programs. Provided consultation and recommendations to company clients on EH&S matters pertaining to OSHA and EPA regulations. Directed and coordinated industrial hygiene surveys and negative exposure assessments for various clients in the petro-chemical and ship building industry. Trained in-house employees on current regulations and standards. Knowledge in RCRA, CERCLA, CAA and CWA. Extensive record keeping for data management and report development. Sales and marketing of company services for new business growth. Ensured that all company services provided were done within compliance of federal, state, and local laws.

Industrial Hygiene Technician, Health and Safety Management, Inc. Beaumont, Texas. (April 1995 to December 1995). Responsible for providing a healthy and environmentally safe working atmosphere. Performing various types of monitoring for measurements and control of noise, asbestos, benzene, silica, lead, and other environmental hazardous chemicals and conditions. Also, performed respiratory fit testing and protection. Involved in safety inspections, audits, and emergency response in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory requirements. Implemented and start-up of new company services involving air quality control and fugitive emission monitoring program. Extensively involved with calibration and maintenance of various industrial hygiene instruments and monitoring equipment.

Fugitive Emission Technician, ARI Environmental, Inc.Sulphur, LA. (July 1993 to April 1995). Onsite plant coordinating for fugitive emission monitoring of valves, flanges, process instruments and other components throughout various chemical refineries within the Golden Triangle area. Performing all job duties by EPA and state regulations to ensure that client meet all required compliance standards. Involved in all phases of fugitive emission; report development, management, monitoring and maintenance on all leaks found. Assure that all facility's air quality requirements are achieved and a good continued service-clients relationship.
