Project Experience

1995-1997- Projects Manager for the Kinross Mines' Numbers 1, 2, 3 Decline shafts extension.

Value - $154 million.
Scope – EPCM (self perform) Sinking of the three declines (approx. 6km) and excavating the ancillaries as well as managing all infrastructure construction.

1997- 2002 – Business Area Manager for Deilmann-Haniel GmBH in South Africa. At the time JS Redpath was a subsidiary of Deilmann -Haniel

Managing Multiple Projects in various stages. (Deilmann-Redpath) in the Northwest Province of South Africa

2003- Mid 2005 – Project Manager/Mine Manager for the Buffelsfontein Chrome Mine. (Deilmann –Redpath Group)

Value - $ 160 million

Scope – Greenfield Project. Draft pre- feasibility, bankable feasibility, Engineer, Procure, Construct and Manage the building of the mine and surface infrastructures, sinking shafts and bringing the mine into successful production on time and under budget. This was done for International Ferro Metals as part of the SDM joint venture between Deilmann-Haniel, Shaft Sinkers SA and Mmekau Mining. I served as the Project leader for the JV, as mine manager for the client and as technical consultant in the competent persons report for SRK. Successful listing was done in September 2005.

Mid 2005 – End 2006 - Site Manager, Senior Site Engineer and Construction/Project Manager for the Ivanhoe Oyu Tolgoi Copper Mine in Mongolia's South Gobi Region.

Value- Approximately $ 128 million per annum

Scope - Construction of the Hugo North numbers 1 and 2 shafts surface infrastructure as well as the sinking of the shafts. Application for construction and mining permits. Training of local workforce. Implementation of standards and procedures

Scope- Managing of the consultants in delivering the BFS; re-installing all site surface infrastructure, purchasing, recruiting, planning and design as well as execution of the project.
