As Fire Safety Inspector:
* Inspects all buildings, structures or facilities
* Determines the presence of any fire hazard, types of occupancy, the prohibited acts being committed or tolerated as provided in section 9, PD No. 1185 (Fire Code of the Philippines)
* Checks or tests the required fire protective and/or warning system
* Requires the building owner or administrator copies furnish of all plans of the building or structure as it was actually built/constructed or renovated.
* Coordinates with the local government or other agencies and inspect premises of any industrial, commercial or business operations and recommends for the issuance of necessary Fire Safety Inspection Certificate (FSIC)
* Determines that fire safety measures for hazardous processes or operations and for the handling, storage or use of hazardous materials have been complied.
* Conducts periodic inspection of any buildings, structures or facility or premises for the purpose of determining compliance with the provisions of the Fire Code of the Philippines.

* Investigates all causes of fires
* Conducts intensive investigation on all fire incidents occurrences.
* Conducts covert and overt intelligence coverage on all fire cases
* Prepares special projects related to fire intelligence and investigation
* File cases in court for all fire incidents of mysterious origin with strict observance to due process of law and assists in the prosecution of the case filed
* Gathers evidence and information
* Protects and preserves evidence gathered during fire incident for legal and other purposes. To submit initial intelligence and investigation report within 24 hours after fire occurrence and final report after the gathering of evidences.
* Informs the immediate superior on matters related to fire intelligence and investigation and;
