Cash and Carry Nigeria Limited, Lagos, Nigeria. The group consisted of a large electronic goods departmental stores with four branches, a plastic goods manufacturing unit, a 40 room hotel and two restaurants.

As a General Manager-Finance and Company Secretary in Sab Nife Power Systems Limited, Hyderabad, India. The company was established with Swedish collaboration for manufacture of Nicad pocket-plate batteries and Power electronic rectifiers for industrial applications.
Reported to the Managing/Executive Director with Overall responsibility on:
Financial accounting and annual audit.
Insurance matters - negotiation with insurance companies for underwriting at competitive rates, insuring for various risks, claims and settlements
Banking operations, funds management / working capital financing /financial planning for sustaining business operations and annual growth.
Costing and budgeting process based on the forecast, review of the cost center and controls, monitoring of product input costs for Battery and PE division products.
Company secretarial matters, attending Board of Directors and Shareholders meetings for minutes preparations, and compliance with Indian Companies Act 1956 statutory requirements.

The company had an Executive Committee system of management. As one of the members of the committee, I was a coordinator to look into day to day operation and overall general management issues for a cohesive system of functioning.

During my service in this company, I delivered strong sustainable operating, financial and service gains through expertise in systems design/implementation, standardization, work flow optimization.
Noteworthy contribution was made on the following:

1. Handling a public shares issue of Rs.35 million that was oversubscribed overwhelmingly in 1992.
2. Introduction of Information Technology for a total office automation (ERP package) on the popular 'Business Process Reengineering' concept – when IT use in India was just in nascent stage.
3. Introduction of various internal control measures and procedures in accounts.

Coromandel Fertilisers Limited (Chevron, IMCC and EID Parry affiliate company) Secunderabad, India. The company was established in 1968 for manufacture of complex grade fertlisers for agricultural applications. The company also had a large one million tonne cement factory, which was since hived off.
Joined as a Financial Analyst and was promoted as Senior Financial Analyst and later as Assistant Manager - Finance. Extensive involvement and experience at middle management level in:
Budgeting, Management Information Reports - preparation, review and generating presentable MIS.
Preparation of 5 years business plans on a rolling plan basis.
Financial analysis, cost-benefit studies, capital expenditure control.
Treasury functions viz, funds planning, working capital and term loans arrangement. liaison with commercial banks and all India financial institutions, foreign exchange loan management.

Priyadarshini Spinning Mills Limited, Hyderabad, India. The company was set up in 1982 as a new project for manufacture of cotton and synthetic yarn. The company management also diversified into setting up of a mini cement plant of 66000 tonnes per year.
Joined as an Accountant for this Rs. 80 million project under implementation. Promoted as a Senior Accounts Officer and was deputed to a group company Sagar Cements Limited.
Gained hands on experience in project finance, accounting, coordination with banks/ financial institutions and project implementation related matters.
