Kejuruteraan Bintai Kindenko Sdn Bhd (KBK) is a Japanese based MNC involved in the building and facility services. Before leaving KBK in 1994, I mostly was responsible for the conceptual design and system planning, project cost control, implementation and installations of mechanical and electrical as well as manufacturing process controls for commercial and industrial clients.

Joined Mtract Development Sdn Bhd (MTDSB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Arab-Malaysian Corporation Berhad in the capacity as Acting Project Manager in 1994. I am instrumental in the development and support for engineering projects within the group. My core tasks assisted by our team of managers, engineers and executives are in development conceptual, planning, budget and cash flow forecast, capital and cost management, liaisons with authorities such as Ministry of Finance, Excise and Custom department and etc. Our tasks included analysis and evaluation in effectiveness and efficiency of processes as well as scheduling. We identify strength and weaknesses in strategies, structure and construction management. We also assist in implementing approved recommendations and changes in information technology, planning, organizing and managing.

Amongst the major projects carried out were Amcorp Trade Centre, a RM350 million mixed development that consisted of three office towers as well as a retail podium and hotel, a RM600 million Sibu Jaya township development, a RM135 million condominium development in Johor and RM45 million Offices development at Bandar Tasek Selatan. Some other works carried out for our associated companies, such as manufacturing process improvement in plastic injection, aluminum die cast, metal stamping, forming and environmental impact studies on our galvanizing facilities.

Current position: Operation Director

Joined IAQ in 1999 as Operation Director. I am entrusted to initially setup the organization business model, quality system as well as streamlining both internal and external processes in view of corporate direction on globalization and our in road into China. Being a premier cleanroom turnkey contractor in the region, we set our vision to ensure that we deliver quality products beyond our client's expectations. We set forth to commit our search for excellence by investing in human resources, research and development. We successfully promoted our eastern cultural background, work ethics and integrity to the highest level thus gaining the trust in us. I have also personally spearheaded and implemented our enterprise resources and information system for seamless integration and sharing of knowledge between our offices in China and Malaysia.

To avert the cyclical nature of the construction industry and its effect on the group profit and loss, we invested and started manufacturing of consumer electronics, air filters and industrial controls in China. We further secured exclusive dealership to represent products from China and Korea in Malaysia.

Other portfolios under my direct supervisions are purchasing, contract administration and logistic. We maintain a comprehensive databases on our activities and material purchased. This has enabled efficient cost analysis using methodology such as "Activities Based Costing" to drive down costs. The result of our aforementioned investment has escalated annual turnover for the last four years from a modest RMB2 million in 1999 to RMB250 million for last year.
