Bethlem Royal hospital remains the most challenging and interesting project I have worked on to date.
This medium secure hospital for the mentally infirm, consisted of three main Blocks: Admin, Sports Therapy, re-habilitation, and living quarters for 90 patients, with healing gardens and a vast array of interesting features and design considerations for caring for the mentally ill.
The site was also interesting being within the grounds of an existing standard hospital, with soil improvements needed and a split level construction method adopted.

At HLM I was also given the opportunity to provide clients with sketch design schemes in the form of freehand sketches and paintings, which include projects such as Guildford School of Acting and Bournemouth Winter Gardens Arts centre.

The creation of Working and Planning drawings to NHBC standards and Building Regulations.
Medium to large residential projects, from early design stages to completion, using Auto-Cad 2002LT and 2004 Full. Pro-map (Survey package), Photoshop. Administration Software. Designing
Site Layouts. Details (including Steel frame/junction details). Bespoke design for specific architectural details.
I was required to provide a complete set of working drawings for a Clients "Flagship Building" 250 sq meters, 6 storey high, containing 46 bespoke individual units, underground parking, of Steel frame Construction. Working closely with the structural engineers and other sub-contracted specialist, site managers. This particular project was a great success providing me with invaluable experience and architectural knowledge. I am also up to speed with current part E regulations for sound insulation. I am proficient with all applications and versions of Auto-Cad, Micro GDS and Microsoft office. I am adaptable and confident. Old school work experience with John Crowther Associates as a Draftsman in late 1980's using conventional mediums e.g. Drafting machine, pens, pencils and paper scale rules. Prior and during my school years I would also worked for my fathers Tarmacadam and ground works contractors in Cornwall, which gave me a prime opportunity to study construction sites of all types and the measurement of these sites, these would include hospitals and schools, residential estates.

My mother being a Property developer in the 80s converting large residential buildings into units gave me a great background into property development, housing market, and construction methods/materials.

Prior to my Architectural career I have also worked on sites such as National Physics laboratory in Teddington duties included steel fixing and general labouring duties.

Having been a Business owner for 5 years specialising in, teaching and motivating others and all aspects of running a small business, I successfully taught over 2000 pupils to surf including the blind which was televised nationally. This experience has proved invaluable to me in many situations, communications, negotiations, team leadership and personal relationships.

I am a qualified First Aider and beach lifeguard. I enjoy working with my hands making prototypes and models of my designs.
