Responsible for inspection of construction activities in accordance with design and specifications, field design changes and coordination between site Construction Management and Engineer's Main Office. Tasks include oversight of contractor's work and QA/QC ensuring compliance with specifications, test frequencies, documentation, and required field and laboratory testing requirements and locations. Responsible for all (OSER) reporting (daily and monthly), project documentation and control, transmittals, invoice review and client and CM relations associated with current employer.
Heap Leach Expansion, Nevada (2006) – Construction Area Manager for a $6 million heap leach facility expansions and process pond repair for Placer Dome/Barrick. Reported directly to the Mine Manager and Operations Manager and responsible for all aspects of the three projects from bid development, adjudication, project management, and invoicing. Short construction schedule and limited resources required substantial flexibility, close management and planning with the contractor and coordination of significant mine equipment usage. Projects were completed while overcoming winter weather issues. Directly managed the Contractor and the mine equipment fleet to advance the project schedule and coordinating use with the mine including haul trucks, shovel, dozers, loaders and support equipment in order to complete the project.
Phoenix Project Plant Site, Nevada (2005) – Member of Construction Management (CM) team for direction and supervision of quantity control for a $265 million Mill Site construction at a major gold mine expansion. Responsible for supervision of staff for verifying all construction trade quantities; structural, civil, electrical, mechanical and plumbing. Responsible for providing quantity reports and initial approval of invoicing while resolving discrepancies directly with the Contractors prior to submittal of monthly invoices to the CM. Quantity team was directly responsible for saving more than $1.4 million in project costs (on first electrical change order) by reviewing Contractor submittal and comparing with compiled industry rates, experience and sources which assisted the CM in reducing the change order cost. Other cost savings included identifying a reduction of $200,000 overcharges on concrete, $300,000 excess bid costs on harmonic filters and more than $500,000 on earthworks.
Senior Geologist/Operations Manager - Terranext.
Duties & Scope – Responsible for management of an environmental consulting office in EPA Region VI providing emergency response, UST removals, site assessments, field sampling and monitoring programs, and groundwater and soil remediation in addition to drilling programs and construction CQA and oversight,. This included direction and guidance of staff, project scheduling, costing, invoicing, proposals and project reporting and direction/coordination of sales and marketing efforts with corporate officers.
Achievements:
- Implemented company-owned remediation equipment leasing resulting in pass-through charge reduction and increase in office revenue
- Responsible for turning a negative revenue office around in less than six months.
- Re-organized office and field operations for reducing subcontractor tasks by performing more services "in-house", thereby improving cash-flow and increasing office net revenue
- Implemented and re-organized document and project tracking system and procedures

- Effectively provided field coordination of project tasks and team member communication between field staff and project managers.
- Audit of company accounts and practices to identify high overhead cost areas that could be reduced without affecting company performance. Identified cost savings on the order of 20-percent +/-.
- As part of a 5-person field team, worked directly with the California Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC) to develop a field sampling plan for part of a 1,000 acre contaminated site and obtained the fastest work plan approval ever issued by DTSC.
-Completion of a leach pad expansion ahead of schedule which included placement of HDPE liner during the rainy season as a result of improved coordination and communication with the contractors.

Mine Site Water Management Plan and Field Survey, Homestake Mine, Lead, South Dakota. - Staff Hydrogeologist on the field investigation for water management and use assessment for site-wide mining operations at the Homestake Mine including examination of local and regional hydrogeology, verification of underground mine inflows and development of conceptual models. Assisted the principle hydrologist with the reporting and development of management and reclamation options working directly with the Principal in Charge.
Mining Facility Demolition and Mine Reclamation Assessment, Confidential Client, Arizona. Assisted with coordinating and conducting site assessment of Smelter facility demolition and site reclamation as part of a 5-person field team. Developed cost estimates for structure demolition, material quantities, and hazardous waste disposal with assessment of site reclamation requirements and associated costs.
Round Mountain Gold, Construction, Nevada. Quality Control Resident Engineer working with the Site Project Engineer in oversight of earthworks, soil testing and HDPE geomembrane installation for leach pad and tailings facility expansion.

Included the Evaluation of geochemistry data to assess seepage from tailings impoundments and potential impact to local aquifers working directly with the Principal in Charge.

Responsible for all phases of the construction process including land clearing, procurement, subcontractor selection and supervision, and scheduling.
