PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
For the past twenty two years I have pursued a career as a Linesman, acting principally as a team player with additional professional duties.

During the earlier part of the period my time was predominantly engaged with training and gaining L.V. Switching Authorisation and showing commitment to the duty rota.

Other duties have entailed working with national and local companies. These are mainly Regional Electricity Companies, Till Hill and Pole Techs. This entails tower work, chair work, re-sagging tower extensions and barbed wiring.

I am currently seeking a linesman's full time contract in the UK or abroad with the appropriate salary to suit.

1972 -1978
I joined the army and served with the Staffordshire Regiment as an Infantryman. During my service I did tours of duty in Germany, Northern Ireland, Belize and Canada. The Staffords are a mechanized infantry regiment and I learned how to service, repair ad maintain a wide variety of vehicles and have a full license for tracked vehicles. After 6 years, I left with an exemplary record.

1978 – 2001
I joined the M.E.B (Midlands Electricity Board) on Eon as a Trainee Linesman. After two years on job training and Technical School training I was made linesman. I have worked on most aspects of overhead lines. I gained L.V. Switching Authorisation, 11Kv Hot Stick Authorisation, I worked on 11 Kv – 33 Kv re-stringing projects and did stand-by duties.

In 1990 I transferred to the MEB's Tower line gang and di the Rower lineman's course at Ham's Hall Training Centre. The men I worked with were ex-C.E.G.B and very experienced in tower work. I have lots of experience of chair work, de-space ring, dropping lines, joining, re-sagging, tower extensions, barbed wiring, etc.

In 2001 I took Company Restructuring Redundancy

2001 – 2008
On leaving Eon I was self employed as a used car salesman working from home. During this time I took short term contracts for 2 companies 2003-4 and again 2004-5. I was employed by an Agricultural Company (Till Hill) as a linesman. I earthed up poles or towers when they carried out tree cutting near overhead power lines.

I also worked for a company called Pole Techs who carried out line patrols and assessed wood pole decay for R.E.Cs (Regional Electricity Companies)
