„Ï Responsible for planning, organizing, execution of construction of roadwork involving embankment, subgrade, GSB, WMM and bituminous work as per approved drawings and MOST specifications, using modern plant and equipment. Coordination between Independent consultant & Contractors for smooth going of the project.
„Ï Daily review of work progress against scheduled programme ensuring adherence to Quality Assurance programs in respect of pavement related works during various phases of execution of the project. Quality Assurance programme was given particular attention in respect of embankment and pavement related areas
„Ï Setting out of works, checking of claims and bills, liaisoning with Contractors etc. Monitored and controlled the process of laying of pavement, maintained existing stretches during the construction period, measured the roughness of the pavement during construction to ensure the quality of construction, etc.
„Ï Ensured that the works were executed as per the Quality Assurance Plan. Also coordinated with the Corporate Manager for internal / External Quality Audits (ISO 9001 /14000) and follow up Audits for quality system approval.

„Ï Feb. 2003 ¡V To date, Manager (Highways), Grand Trunk Road Improvement Project (World Bank Funded) ¡V Design Review and Construction supervision for four laning and strengthening of the existing two lane stretches from km 199.66 to km 250.50 on NH-2 in Uttar Pradesh (Construction Packages I -A). Client: National Highways Authority of India. The civil works involve large-scale construction of bituminous pavement construction using geo-textiles over subgrade, GSB, WMM, DBM, and B.C with crumbed rubber modified bitumen (CRMB). The entire two/three lane pavements with hard shoulders are to be laid / paved in one go by deploying the latest machinery having a paving width of 8.5 m / 12 M. In Package I-A, the first 22 km roadway is for widening to 6 lanes and to 4 lanes in the remaining length of the consultancy package. The construction involves construction of a new 6 lane bridge (length 40 m) at Jharna Nalah, Flyover at Rambagh, Tundla and Firozabad, rehabilitation of the existing major bridge (old Yamuna bridge; length 356.62 m), construction of additional 2 lane bridge near the existing minor bridge 229/1 in Package I-A. The project is being executed under FIDIC conditions of contract. Has been responsible for review of design of highway geometrics during execution in light of the field conditions and recommending changes as considered necessary, supervision of works as per specifications, checking the setting out of works, checking and approval of formworks and bar bending schedules for bridges and other structures, measurement of works, assist the Team Leader / Resident Engineer in review and Preparation of interim payment certificates for contractors, preparation of variation orders, monitoring the progress of execution of works. Also assisted the Material Engineer in testing of materials. Exercised full quality control during various phases of execution of the project and ensured its completion as per the specifications. Cost of the project: INR 3,540,566,742.
„Ï Nov. 2002 ¡V Feb. 2003, Was engaged in the planning, investigations, shifting of alignment with reference to existing road, quantity estimation, soil and materials investigations, etc. for the following projects:
* Feasibility study and preparation of detailed project report for rehabilitation, strengthening, improvement and widening of Gobindpur - Jamtara - Dumka - Barhat - Sahebganj Ghat Road (330 km) in Jharkhand. Client: PWD, Govt. of Jharkhand. Cost of the Project: Rs 4300 million.
* Feasibility study and detailed project preparation for rehabilitation and upgrading to 4/6 lane divided carriageway configuration of EW corridor (Contract Package No 2: Chittorgarh to Kota in Rajasthan, funded by Asian Bank). Client: NHAI.

Nov. 2000 ¡V Nov. 2002, Highway Engineer,
M/s. Bhageeratha Engineering Ltd. Four laning laning and strengthening of Karur By-pass (10.2 km) NH-7 and construction of new bridge across the river Amaravathi, Karur (Domestic funded). Client: National Highways Authority of India; Consultant: RITES. The project involved strengthening of the existing two lane carriageway and construction of two lane new carriageway and provision of 5.5 m service on either sides.. As a Highway Engineer, he was responsible for supervision of earth work and pavement layers, conducting field tests and laboratory tests, checking line levels alignment measurements, assisting material engineer in mix designs of concrete GSB, WMM, DBM, BC. Was also involved in supervision of construction of Amaravathi Bridge PSC BOX Girder type major bridge of 9 x 42 m + 1 x 26 m, length 404 m with well foundations and 33 culverts, providing road signage, road markings etc. checking of alignment, reinforcement shuttering, concreting, pre-stressing, grouting operations, computation of quantities from drawing and comparing with actual works executed. The project was executed as per MORT&H specifications. Cost of the Project: INR 280 Million.

„Ï May 1999 ¡V Nov. 2000, Highway Engineer, Strengthening and widening (single lane to double lane) of radial roads (Package IV) from Vandallur gate to Walaja Bad road (43 km) in Tamil Nadu (World Bank funded). Client: Highways and Rural Department, Govt. of Tamil Nadu. The contract was executed as per FIDIC conditions of contract. „Ï Nov. 1997 ¡V May. 1999, Site Engineer. Formation of new approach road (2 lane) for ROB on NH-45 at Perangulathur. Client: Southern Railways. As Site Engineer, was responsible for supervision of construction of earth work and pavement layers. Conducting field and laboratory test, checking lines levels alignment measurements, assisting material Engineer in mix designs of concrete GSB, WBM, DBM, BC, Kerb Casting and Drainage Works. The project was executed as per MORT&H specifications. Cost of the Project: Rs.0.90 Million.
Senior Engineer, Construction of Napier Bridge (250 m) over Coovum River in Chennai with approach roads with sand gravel mix, WBM, DBM and asphalt concrete. Client: Chennai Corporation. The bridge is of bow string girder (cast-in-situ) over pile foundation of 21 m deep and 0.75 m diameter. The project also involved construction of approach roads, storm water drain, etc. The bridge is a replica of the existing bridge at Chennai near Marina Beach. The duties included supervision of works as per specifications, checking of formwork and bar bending schedule, supervising the concrete works, exercising quality control during various phases of the project, monitoring the progress of works, measurement of works, preparation of bills, resource management, etc. The project was executed as per MORT&H specifications. Cost of the Project: Rs.45 Million.
„Ï In lieu of the existing level crossing near Palavanthangal. Client: Tamil Nadu State Roads and Rural Works Department, City Roads Division, Chennai. The project included construction of service roads connecting with service bridges parallel to railway line. As Site Engineer, was responsible for construction supervision of earth work and pavement layers, checking of alignment and reinforcement, shuttering, concerting, computation of quantities from drawing and comparing with actual at site, construction of RCC raft concrete retaining wall, deck slab (Skew 220) with mastic asphalt pavement. The duties included fixing of alignment, heavy earth work excavation with heavy machinery in soft and hard strata, water proofing arrangement with tarred felt and brick on edge, etc. The project was executed as per MORT&H specifications. Cost of the Project: Rs. 28.5 Million.
Also involved in strengthening of inner ring road at Chennai (3 lanes, 4 km). DBM, Asphalt concrete as per MORT&H specifications. Cost of the Project: Rs.70 Million.

Sri Ranganathar & Co. Construction of Ash Dyke Bund & Peripheral Roads (11 km) at North Thermal Power Plant, Attipattu. Client: Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Chennai. As Site Engineer, was responsible for construction supervision of earth work and pavement layers, checking of alignment, reinforcement shuttering, computation of quantities from drawing and comparing with actual at site, Raft Concrete Retaining wall, Deck slab with Mastic asphalt pavement, Slope dressing, Pitching, Cement Concrete Toe Drain for drainage purpose, Canals, and Energy Dissipating Shaft for Ash Dyke Bund and also involved in construction of road works. The project was executed as per MORT&H specifications. Cost of the Project: Rs. 480 Million.
