As a self employed attorney, I am available for fairly prompt relocation and/or extensive travel. I would be able to transfer my existing clients to other attorneys I work with who, like myself, are solo practitioners. I would also be able to relocate worldwide on a single status basis.
As a member of senior management, and as an attorney, I have acquired considerable experience working with clients and contractors in both the government and commercial sectors. Extensive experience with US government contract negotiations and administration. Agencies included EPA, DOE, NIH, and DOD.
Contract attorney for construction oversight team for an experimental desalination facility in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
Reviewed environmental, safety, and health regulations to ensure that research operations were in conformance.
General familiarity with IP matters, e.g., patent licenses, copyrights, and patent infringement risk assessments.
Counseled management and technical staff on a wide range of general contract, commercial, liability, and intellectual property issues.
Worked with HR departments on a variety of issues. Developed the HR policies and procedures for use by the International Division.
Marketing experience with US government agencies, and also overseas -- primarily through US embassies, consulates, and trade missions.

Engaged as Of Counsel by Stewart and Associates P.C., located in Atlanta, Georgia, to perform legal and collection services for the firm and its clients throughout the State of Missouri.
ATTORNEY/BUSINESS MANAGER Since 1992
Established independent legal practice, specializing primarily in the area of business law. Provide consultation to clients in such areas as: development of marketing strategies, proposal preparation and review, contract negotiations and administration, dispute resolution, preparation or review of various agreements required for ongoing business activities. Currently working with startup businesses utilizing the Internet to provide accounting, computer sales, and web site development services. Establishing these businesses as Limited Liability Companies. Serve as Business Manager for these and other small business organizations.
MIDWEST RESEARCH INSTITUTE (MRI) Kansas City, Missouri 1975 - 1992
Assistant to the Senior Vice President and Treasurer (1989 - 1992)
Provided legal and business support for the corporate staff and MRI's subsidiaries. Prepared various documents such as patent licenses, contracts for research, and proposals for MRI's international programs. Reviewed corporate benefit plans and commercial insurance policies. Ensured that research operations conformed to environmental, safety, and health regulations. Trained staff from four different states in US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) procurement practices to enable them to receive EPA funds for cleanup operations. Acted as legal representative of a 4-member team that recommended changes to the operations of MRI's National Renewable Energy Laboratory division in Golden, Colorado to ensure that its operations complied with environmental regulations.
Assistant Chief Counsel-National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) 1989- 1991 (A US Department of Energy (DOE) Laboratory in Denver, Colorado operated by MRI. Duties conducted concurrently with those of Assistant to the Senior Vice President and Treasurer)
Provided legal guidance to senior management in environmental, safety, health, and other related laws. Reviewed and provided legal approval of NREL subcontracts, leases, and various other contractual commitments. Coordinated real estate transactions with the DOE and the state of Colorado. Provided business and administrative consultation for the Pacific International Center for High Technology Research in Hawaii. Qualified this organization to receive US Government contracts. Assumed the responsibilities of Director of Procurement for NREL during the transition period for replacement of the former director.
Manager, Legal and Financial Services, International Division (1983 - 1989)
Coordinated legal, accounting, and support services for US, third country national, and local staff. Developed employment agreements, personnel policies, and operating procedures for MRI's international programs. Designed contract formats for research, service, and construction projects performed in both the
United States and Saudi Arabia. Developed a cost control system that ensured that programs were completed within budget. Promoted MRI business interests through marketing trips in the United States, Europe, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong. Conducted negotiations for major contracts for the International Division. Provided on-site direction for the "close-out" activities for MRI projects in Saudi Arabia. Interfaced with the U. S. Department of Energy and DCAA for subcontract audits and the audit of MRI. Drafted and negotiated subcontracts for a $100,000,000 solar energy project jointly funded by the United States and Saudi Arabia.
Chief, Prime Contracts Branch - NREL (1981 - 1983)
Administered the contract between MRI and the U.S. Department of Energy for the operation of NREL. Oversaw the fulfillment of corporate contract objectives and requirements. Provided legal support to senior management with regard to business policies, contract negotiations, and international agreements. Developed international marketing opportunities through travel to various locations. Coordinated NREL's first international program, located in Saudi Arabia. Provided on-site assistance for the establishment of the logistical support base in Saudi Arabia.
Contracts Manager (1975 - 1981)
Established, at $700,000 less than estimated, the logistical support services for MRI's first international contract -- a consumer protection project in Saudi Arabia.
Negotiated and administered contracts with a number of Federal Government agencies, including EPA, DOE, and NIH.
