Field Engineer - Tutor Saliba Perini - San Francisco, CA 1993 to 1996
Staff engineer on the MUNI Metro Turnback Project for the SF MUNI subway. Two 18-foot-diameter tunnels were driven by a soft ground shield under compressed air using bolted steel liner plates. Produced plans and implemented extensive traffic detours in a downtown setting. Field supervision of labor and sub-contractors performing line/grade control, installing storm water pumping system, remedial bolting of the underlying BART tube steel liner plates, chemical grouting and jet grouting, ground settlement instrumentation.
Field Engineer – Stacy & Witbeck/Dillingham - San Francisco, CA - 1992 to 1993. SF MUNI South Embarcadero Rail Extension Project. Supervised track construction.

Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District – Served design team and supervised construction of a steel plate/ CIP concrete lined water tunnel under the Rt. 91 freeway;
Magma Gold, Ltd., Tucson AZ. - performed Mine planning for the McCabe underground gold mine near Prescott, AZ;
Valley Engineers, Fresno, CA – Supervised installation of drilled anchor tie-backs for a 36" diameter hydroelectric inlet pipeline on a remote section of the North Fork Yuba River, CA;
US Geological Survey, Carson City, NV – Supervised horizontal drilling from a shallow shaft in desert alluvium for placement of instrumentation to monitor migration of radioactive isotopes from US Ecology's hazardous waste facility near Beatty, NV.
Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and San Francisco Water Department.
Served as the CAL-OSHA Safety Representative supervising gas testers for construction and rehab projects in tunnels classified gassy and potentially gassy.
