Professional Experience:
Employed in a petroleum comapny in Oman on 26.03.2005; continuing serving them till the date as their Industrial Hygienist cum Occupational Health Specialist. The refinery is certified for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001; having Integrated Management System (IMS). In the refinery, responsible to:
* Design, develop and implement the complete Occupational Health System (includes development of various Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Medicine Procedures / Programs) in the refinery.
* Look after and guide / advise the management in taking appropriate decision pertaining to any Occupational Health matters / issues.
* Guide and Conduct routine HSE Inspections, bi-annually Internal Audits for the refinery plant areas, workshops, buildings, camp etc.
* Guide and Conduct HSE Risk Assessments, Surveys for the refinery work areas. And identify, monitor and evaluate all the HSE hazards in the refinery and Give recommendations to control hazards and their exposure level.
* Guide medical clinic / and the contracted medical centers and Coordinate with them to collect, analyze and evaluate the data / results for taking further action to control / minimize health hazards exposure and OHS illnesses.
* Coordinate for regular IH monitoring for health hazards in the refinery.
* Prepare and maintain legal compliance register, liaise with local legal authorities.
* Design and regularly delivering various OHS related awareness / training programs (noise, heat, ergonomic, dusts, work permit, confined space, H2S, HazMat, MSDS, lab safety, indoor air, medical exams etc.
* Regular monitoring for all the contractors' OHS system and guide them on OHS issues.
* Coordinat a COSHH Assessment for the major chemicals / products used in the company.
* Lead role player in preparing specification, inspection and evaluating vendors & tendors for supplying OH equipment, medical services to the company.
* Instrumental in set corporate QHSE policy & objectives for the company & other departments.
Worked as an Occupational Hygienist for the giant petroleum company in Kuwait; for their 3 refineries from 06.02.2004 to 20.03.2005.
* Instrumental in developing and implementing OH corporate procedures like Exposure Assessment, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Heat Stress Management, MSDS Management, Chemical Hazard Management, Hazard Communication, Indoor Air Quality, Radiation Protection and Asbestos Abetment etc. for a complete Occupational Health System in the company.
* Carried out a wide range of occupational hygiene inspections and investigations in various Plants in the Refineries.
* Investigated and developed plans for monitoring of personnel / workplace with such issues as PPE, Chemical, Physical and Biologically active agents, etc. to ensure that working conditions are maintained at the optimal level of industrial HSE standards.
* Conducted measurement of work environment to evaluate sources of airborne chemical contaminants, physical agents (noise, heat, light, radiation etc.), to identify prevailing health hazards, personnel at risk, task analysis and the type and extent of further monitoring required.
* Participated and Prepared detailed reports on exposure to physical, biological and chemical agents and presents to management.
* Coordinated with medical to assess employee exposure to and potential risk and damage caused by working environment and provides interpretation of data.
* Evaluated the performance of equipment and engineering control measures to reduce exposures to hazardous substances and harmful agents.
* Maintained OH monitoring equipment inventory, calibration and maintenance.
