Final Year Project
Project entitled "Effect of Cooling Rate on Structures and Properties of Aluminum-Silicon Alloy". The objective of the project was to investigate the effect of cooling rate on microstructures and mechanical properties of Al-Si alloy. Samples for slow cooling rate were cast from sand casting process while samples for fast cooling rate were cast from metallic/chill mold. The hardness, ultimate tensile strength and microstructure of the samples were analysed.
