SUMMARY:
I am a US Citizen with over 18 years of progressive experience ranging from academic research to senior management. I worked on the development, implementation and auditing of Environmental Management Systems, policies and procedures. I am currently working in Riyadh Saudi Arabia as the head of the Environmental and Contracts/Proposals departments. I will complete my current assignment in Saudi Arabia in March 2007 and will be available for employment immediately afterwards.

My last job in the US was with Essroc Cement Corp where I worked as a Corporate Environmental Engineer in Nazareth, PA, USA. As a corporate environmental engineer working for Essroc my duties included compliance with environmental regulations and the development and implementation of Environmental Management System, policies and procedures to cover all environmental aspects of an industrial environment with direct oversight over three US plants. At Lafarge I played a similar role at their Largest North American cement plant and hazardous waste management facility.

Prior to my work in the cement industry I worked for seven years as an environmental engineer for Vulcan Performance Chemicals in Smyrna, Georgia, overseeing the environmental performance of three facilities. Duties covered permitting and compliance with all environmental regulations. I have also managed the hazard communications program, hazardous materials transportation, and product management. I was an active member of the ISO9000 steering committee.

Over the thirteen years I worked in the US I had safety and health responsibilities in both the chemical and cement industries. I was involved in safety audits, responsible for monitoring the exposure of employees to occupational hazards resulting from fugitive emissions (dust and gaseous), in addition to being the radiation safety officer at the plant level (Lafarge) and at the corporate level (Essroc-Italcementi). As a member of the process safety management team at Vulcan I was responsible for collecting and assessing employee information at three chemical plants. I was always responsible for managing the hazard communication program.

Throughout my career, design and management of environmental projects was always part of my duties and responsibilities. I have managed several projects with budgets of over $1 Million simultaneously. The projects ranged from a conceptual design and permitting of all air pollution control systems at a cement plant, installation of air emissions continuous monitoring, data acquisition and reporting systems to spill cleanup, PCB decontamination and major air emission testing projects, in addition to coordinating the design of waste landfill cells.

From 10/1990 until 4/1994, and as a Graduate Research Engineer at Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, Georgia USA), I studied the efficiency of GAC filters in the removal of contaminants and destruction of residual chlorine in the effluent of a local wastewater treatment facility. I continued my research work at Georgia tech by focusing on the fate and transport of contaminants in the subsurface and the remediation of contaminated groundwater. At Kuwait University I worked as a Graduate Research Assistant from 9/1987 until 12/1989 studying the effect of step-feeding as compared to front end feeding in an aerated submerged fixed-film (ASFF) reactor.

Responsible for the coordination of compliance activities including the development of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Plans and Startup, Shutdown and Malfunction (SSM) plans per the Portland Cement MACT rule in six US Plants. Duties range from the development, implementation and auditing of Environmental Management Systems, policies and procedures to cover all environmental aspects of an industrial environment with direct oversight over three US plants. Provide technical and legal advice as related to environmental rules and regulations. Coordinate the installation, certification and operation of monitoring systems including the development of QA/QC plans and procedures, in addition to coordination of all stack testing activities. Provide technical/professional as well as awareness training to persons from various levels within the organization.
