A. Vice President – Operations & IT Audit, Audit Review & Compliance Group
- Worked closely, yet independently, to ensure improvements in the Standing Operating Procedures of several new/significantly modified products of the bank.
- User Acceptance Test process was streamlined so that the process included a comprehensive Test Script; the test results of which were independently verified.
- Worked closely with ARCG Management and shared information on Corporate Governance, Fraud deterrance and other information as obtained through networking with members of the local chapters of the IIA and the ACFE. Fraud Division was formed in 2006.
- Received a letter of appreciation from Retail Banking Group Management for my efforts on the implementation of E-Gate Card. Received a special bonus on successfully resolving and closing out the "Transactions in Difficulty". Additionally, received a "Gold Star" certificate for the overall efforts in the Audit Department.
- Currently, leading the first "ARCG Social Committee" (formed in the last quarter of 2006) and already have started a 'Quiz' for rewarding those who come to the office early/on-time; introduced Dart Game and held a tournament amongst the ARCG Management; held a "Predict the Cricket 2007 World Cup Winner" Competition, and successfully organized a Cricket Tournament. Additionally, I was the Captain of the winning team in the Tournament.
- Either led the effort or was part of the team for various Audits which included Centralized Accounts, Trade Finance, Deposit Taking Activities etc.. Auto Audit was used for all audits.
- Active member for Fraud Investigations/Special Investigations as and when required.

- Performed audits using PricewaterHouseCooper's software "Teammate" (as the Head/assisted the Head of Audit Missions) in various divisions of the bank with focus on value addition. Audited areas include Compliance, Asset Management/Investment Compliance, Islamic Banking, Corporate Banking, Saudi Shares, Suspense Account, Treasury, Centralized Operations etc.
- Instituted an effective follow-up process so that the risk items identified during the course of the audits get adequately and timely rectified.

Auditor - Internal Audit
- Lead Auditor of various centralized functions such as Treasury, Treasury Operations, Suspense and Expense account review. Other audits performed included various areas such as Centralized Operations, Documentation, Letter of Credit and Guarantee department.
- Led teams to perform the operational audits of various branches of the bank.
- Started the process of follow-up with the auditees on risk items identified during the audits to ensure that the risk is sufficiently covered.
- Worked together with the Head of Internal Audit in performing investigations for potential fraud related activities.
- Provided assistance in formulating bank's anti-money laundering policies and other approved policies related to the Safety and Security of Branch Premises, and Accounts with "Blocked/Inactive" status.

- Lead Auditor for branch banking business. Performed audits of various functions of the bank such as Citiphone, Centralized Operations, Expenses, and Compliance.
- Department's representative for compliance related issues.
- Department's representative for "Management Awareness Response System" in which the key outstanding issues were identified on a quarterly basis and forwarded to the Management Committee (issues increased from 6 to 86 in 6 months).
- Introduced the regional concept of "Departmental Control Functional Checklist" along with the "Quarterly Self Assessment" in Citibank, Pakistan.

1994–1997 Citibank Karachi, Pakistan
Assistant Manager - Treasury and Risk Management Department
- Responsible for handling the money market portfolio of Global Consumer Banking, that was approximately 60% of Citibank, Pakistan's balance sheet. Traded in the secondary market by outright purchase/sale, repurchase agreement and in the Interbank (call) market.
- Worked on pricing for various in-house programs such as credit cards, car finance and housing loans. Additionally, worked on pricing strategies for local & foreign currency products.

1992–1994 Bear Stearns-Jahangir Siddiqui Ltd. Karachi, Pakistan

Dealer in the Interbank market and performed functions such as outright purchase/sale of Treasury Bills, Federal Investment Bonds, derivatives trading such as repurchase agreements (repos) and reverse repos, and placement in the Interbank (Call) market.
