Overseeing all site aspects of environmental management of a 2500-man development project for a $1bn, 100MW oil & gas processing facility in an environmentally sensitive area.

* Provided leadership for environmental management in construction, commissioning and early operations phases.
* Developed and managed programmes for risk assessment, compliance, verification, training, chemicals management; waste management; spill prevention and response, and decommissioning and restoration
* Supervised performance monitoring, data management and reporting, including ecological surveys.
* Provided investigation and notification of environmental and safety non-compliances and incidents.
* Focal point for management of the public HSE and social commitments to lending institutions.
* Developed and implemented HSE inspections, reviews, audits.

September 2003 – February 2005: Environmental Manager for EPC contractor for BP's In Amenas Central Processing Facility and related pipelines (JGC/KBR(Halliburton), Algeria)

Responsible for all site aspects of environmental management for a remote 4,500-man construction site, and leading a department of up to 30 people.

* Developed and managed environmental programmes, including spill prevention and response measures, training and verification, chemicals management.
* Developed and managed the project's integrated waste management facility, including incinerators, landfills, waste processing, recycling and bioremediation.
* Supervised monitoring and reporting of performance and investigation of incidents.
* Managed sub-contractors regarding environmental and waste management.
* Conducted site audit of Damietta LNG plant construction project in Egypt (another JGC/KBR site).

* Seconded to Shell-led Petroleum Development Oman (PDO): assisted project-management of HSE Management System implementation, development of PDO HSE Plan, benchmarked HSE performance, developed new HSE performance indicators, assisted with implementation of IMPACT data management system and stakeholder analyses for new developments.
* Prepared decommissioning & restoration guidelines for Occidental of Oman.
* Project-managed impact assessments and baseline studies, including gas processing plant at Saih Nihayda, Qarn Alam Steam Injection Project and the Harweel field development.
* Project-managed coastal and marine studies, including a survey of marine ecology around oil terminal in Mina Al Fahal Bay, Oman.
* Was nominated company Quality and HSE Representative, responsible for development and implementation of PDO-compatible HSE programme and of quality management system to ISO 9001.
* Led a due diligence audit (phase I) for proposed sale of JAPEX oil production facilities (Daleel field).
