„« Energy Business Plan deployment and implementation resulted in Real Energy Savings (Electricity, Coal, Natural Gas, and Water & Sewer) in excess of $1.8 Million Jan-Dec'06 compared to Jan-Dec'05.
„« Managed, designed, and implemented Energy Conservation Projects of Multi Million Dollars Capital Investment and ROI of < 1.5 Years. Projects took place in Paint Department, Body Shop, General Assembly, and Plant wide. Projects range from converting T12's to T8's to installing Magnets instead of Vacuum Cups to Implementation of Energy Management System to automatically turn off giant exhaust fans (27 x 200 hp) and Paint Process Air Supply Houses during non-production hours, hence saving steam and electricity. Projects included HVAC systems performance optimization through upgraded controls.

The Industrial Assessment Center program (IAC) is funded out of the US Department of Energy (DOE) since 1976. As a component of the National Energy Strategy, the IAC program is a major energy conservation initiative of the U.S. DOE as well as supporting waste reduction and improvements in productivity in American industries. During my participation in this program, I have:
„« Conducted well over 250 assessments in energy, productivity and waste for small to large size manufacturing industries in the states of West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Ohio. Industries range from Potato Chips to Air Craft assembly.
„« Developed an energy model to thermodynamically analyze and compare the energy use in Weirton Steel reheat furnaces under cold and warm charging conditions. Annual energy savings were well above $1.8M
„« Performed energy efficiency projects as part of Industries of the Future (IOF) Plant-Wide Assessment at Bayer Corporation, New Martinsville, WV, Ford Cleveland Casting Plant, Cleveland Ohio, and Weirton Steel Company, Weirton, WV. The projects included steam generation and distribution systems, HVAC optimization, and compressed air systems and electrical and nitrogen distribution systems.
„« Developed a simulation model for the optimization of steam system at Weirton Steel Corporation.
„« Cooperated with energy research teams from Oak Ridge National Energy Laboratory in performing Energy Analysis in Federal Building (Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington D.C.).
1988-1999 Organization for Energy Conservation and Planning (OECP) Cairo, Egypt

„« Project #1 Energy Conservation in Petroleum Refineries. The project included full scale energy evaluation program for six major Egyptian petroleum refineries on quarterly basis for three consecutive years. Among cost effective energy efficiency measures were combined heat and power cycles, crude distillation furnaces performance tests, and steam and compressed air distribution system evaluation.
„« Project #2 Urban Energy Planning Project in Alexandria in cooperation with the Commission of European Community. The project included analyzing the energy-environmental profile in Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in the city of Alexandria through selective auditing in 18 SMEs followed to seven industrial sectors.
„« Project #3 Support for National Action Plan (SNAP) in cooperation with USAID in Cairo. The project focused on Preparation of National Climate Change Action Plan in Egypt. It included In-depth evaluation of priority mitigation and adaptation technologies/measures and identification of opportunities to promote technology diffusion.
„« Project #4 Energy Conservation program in Egyptian Industries funded by the USAID. The project included cooperation with Foster Wheeler, RCG Hagler Bailly, and AF EnergiConsult in performing 25 energy audits in selective heavy industries including petroleum, metallic, food, chemical, and paper and pulp industries in Egypt.
„« Project #5 Assessment of DSM Opportunities in Steam System in Egyptian Industry Sector funded by the USAID. The project was implemented jointly with Overseas Bechtel, Incorporated, San Francisco, CA.
„« Project #6 National Co-generation Project in Egypt. The project was implemented jointly with teams from Cairo University and OECP where field surveys for the Co-generation potentials in 13 large size industrial plants were completed. The study estimated a potential for adding new capacity of 443 MW leading to a foreign exchange savings of $186 Million.
„« Project #7 National Boiler Energy Conservation project in Egypt. The project was implemented jointly with teams from Cairo University and OECP where field tests including measurements and performance analysis of 100 water tube and fire tube boilers were conducted. The study estimated a potential savings of $12 million with payback period approaching 2 years.
