To Whom It May Concern,

I am an Australian citizen recently arrived in Canada and I have been awarded with a one year working visa for Canada. Following my completion of a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering and a Masters of Engineering Science at the University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia) I am very keen to gain employment in the environmental engineering sector.
My BE has provided me with the ability to work in a broad range of fields, including water resource management, noise and transport engineering, geotechnical engineering, coastal protection, and environmental planning. Further to this my postgraduate work concentrated on hydrogeology – covering geophysical surveys and other investigative techniques, hydrogeochemistry, and groundwater and subsurface contamination and remediation.
I understand that on-the-job training is a vital part of professional development, and this coupled with my work ethic, enthusiasm to learn new skills, and education makes me believe that I’d be an asset to any potential employer.
I am currently staying in Toronto, and would be interested in working within Ontario if at all possible. Regarding my CV, which follows, my references are available, but I do not have them in electronic form – I am happy to mail or fax them at your request.

•    Seismic surveys
•    Borehole geophysics, especially neutron logging

For my Masters Project I performed an analysis on whether Electrical Imaging could be used effectively as a method for determining soil moisture in conductive swelling clays. To complete this project I had to have a sound theoretical knowledge of both electrical conduction mechanisms and neutron logging techniques in these types of clays.
