SELECTED PROJECTS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Project Manager/Principal Hydrogeologist - Supplemental Site Investigation (¡* SSI¡¨) and Remedial System Optimization (¡* RSO¡¨), SCRDI Dixiana NPL Site, Columbia, South Carolina. The SSI was performed for the PRP Group prior to the Group's assumption of control of the Site where US EPA Region IV had been operating a 20-well pump-and-treat remedial system. Prepared Work Plan. Supervised field teams. Analyzed data and prepared SSI report that was accepted by EPA without comment. Major modifications (the RSO) to the groundwater remediation system were designed and installed. The PRP Group subsequently negotiated 35% reduction in payment to EPA.
Project Manager/Principal Hydrogeologist - Investigation/Remediation of a 30,000-gallon gasoline release in bedrock, General Motors Facility, Wentzville, Missouri. Designed and operated initial free-phase recovery system. Designed & supervised hydrogeologic/contaminant-assessment investigation. Performed conceptual design & permit acquisition of in-situ biological remediation system using hydrogen peroxide as oxygen source. Designed, permitted, and supervised installation of closed-loop groundwater system that utilized first Class IV injection wells permitted in Missouri and EPA Region V. Cleanup completed in three years following start-up.
Principal Hydrogeologist - RCRA Facility Investigation (¡* RFI¡¨) Work Plan for 57 SWMUs, Olin Corporation Facility, East Alton, Illinois. Collected and evaluated background data for the 100+-year old, 2,500-acre facility. Developed phased approach procedures and objectives. Designed technical objectives for Phase I Framework Definition of the RFI. Reviewed and approved Work Plan. Prepared response to EPA Region V comments.
Project Manager - Waste Characterization and Disposal of 900+ drums, Freedom Textile Chemicals Facility, Cowpens, South Carolina. Designed and managed project. Designed drum inventory plan.
