Selected Accomplishments

Developed policies and procedures based on new guidelines and techniques required by the federal government and learned the new procedures well before the required implementation date. Due to my fast start we were one of very few states to be ready with this procedure when required and even developed guidance to aid end users. The outcome was to be able to perform analyses in accordance with federal guidance within the necessary time frame so as to avoid delays. This gave me the opportunity to train other states and federal government regulators in the procedure.

Established techniques to improve the way air pollution events are predicted and increased the efficiency of how information about unhealthy pollution episodes is transmitted to the public. Translating technical information to the public can be a challenge but, due to my public speaking abilities and knowledge of the subject, I have been called upon frequently to give concise, practical information to the general public via the media. I have extensive on-camera experience and have written numerous press releases.

Developed and Instituted new procedures designed to streamline the process for receiving permits. I have always strived to increase efficiency and took the opportunity to standardize and simplify our procedures in order to decrease permit processing time while ensuring no decrease in quality. Implementation of these new procedures improved operational efficiency significantly.
