The project was based on the study of Specialty Organic Chemicals Manufacturing - Wastewater Pre-treatment Plant to predict toxicity of the aqueous effluents by tracking back the upstream processes and help minimize the cost of waste management.
* Proposed a Multilevel Principal Component Analysis (PCA) approach based on Multivariate Statistical Process Control (MSPC) to monitor batch process trajectories against product quality variables
* Developed a toxicity prediction model to replace the expensive and time consuming Microtox test using some readily available variables, such as pH, COD, Phenol etc.
* Identified the factors that lead to high toxicity values by sensitivity analysis
