PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AS INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN. a) Carry out planned maintenance on Automatic valves and repairs on defective ones, thus overhaul, service parts, assemble, check operation and then do the installations. Valves worked on include saunder valves, El-o-matic valves, butterfly valves, power cylinder valves, and Samson valves, pinch valves. b) Carry out installations of weightometre and calibrations. Thus installation of weight frame and alignment and also field and panel wiring. Models worked on include Ramsey model 20 -40, Micro-tech 10 -201 and 10 -30 and also process Automatic weightometers model EMB -220, version Embe - 220, 40 -06. c) Instrumentation Control systems worked on include the following; Spec 200, profibus and DCS (Distributed control system). d) Carry out checks on PH transmitters and probes, thus clean probes, then buffer check with PH7 and PH4. Models worked on Endless and Hauser MYPRO CPM431. e) Do planned maintenance on density meters, thus check parameters and against known sample, type worked on; Thermo electron corporation model Am 770 version 3 software. f) Planned maintenance on level transmitters and also programming. Endless and Hauser prosonic - m and vegason 61 level transmitters. g) Worked on flow meters thus prosonic and promag 53, promag 50 and promag 35. Installation and programming them to suit the pipe and process. Endless and Hauser models. h) Carry out checks on fire alarm system (smoke detector) to ensure quick action in case of fire using carbon dioxide fire fighting system. I) Turning of controllers and instruments to suit the process condition. Proportional, derivative and integral (P.1.D) j) Carry out planned maintenance and checks on programming logic controllers (PLC). Models worked on are Allen Bradley, Toshiba Houston, Siemens and Mitsubishi. k) Check on water purification loop (chlorinating) to ensure right amount of chlorine is added to the domestic water. l) Laying cables, tubing's for new installations or replacements. m) Carry out maintenance on Spec 200 Annuciators for interlocks n) Carry out planned maintenance and repairs on oil lube system for Sag mill and Ball mills. Bearing lube system, trunion bearing, grease seal and girth gear lube system. o) Carry out maintenance and repairs on VSDs (Dan Foss VLTR 5000 variable speed drives). p) Carry out bench repairs, calibrations of controllers; speed seasons for weightometers, current to pneumatic converters, level transmitters, pressure gauges, pressure switches and other instruments. q) Circuit modifications, wiring, and repairs faulty finding on belts feeders.
