The responsibilities are chemical engineering design and calculations. Fluid flow, energy transfer and mass transfer calculations for heterogeneous reactions and multiphase reactor design. Analysis/data acquisition of the reactions involved.

The project was to design and build a laboratory/pilot scale oscillatory baffled reactor for Huntsman Corporation which could help in efficient mixing and dispersion of the two liquids involved with a large density difference. Performing dispersion studies within the reactor which would act as a prelude to polymerisation reactions within the reactor. My responsibilities included chemical engineering projects, process design calculations, along with experiments, data acquisition/analysis, report writing and presentation. Produce design options and solutions. Produce detailed mass and energy balances and simulations so that the designs and solutions are safe. Liaise with other engineering staff and/or technicians, taking part in all necessary reviews. Obtain and evaluate data on the performance of the reactor.
