Education:
Undergraduate: BA in geology from San Jose State University graduated 1998. Graduate: Currently working on MS in geology, concentrating on structural geology. Courses completed: Engineering Geology (Principals of and Advanced), Advanced Structural Geology, Principals of Hydrogeology, Fluids in Geology (seminar), Air Photo Analysis and Remote Sensing, Advanced Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology. Expected to graduate in the summer of 2001.
Activities:
SJSU Geology Club: President (1997-98), Secretary (1996-97), Tutor (1995-present). Coordinate weekly meetings with speakers recruited from industry and academia. Organize fund-raisers and social events. Tutor beginning geology students.
Geology Reading Group: Participate in a weekly reading and discussion group of current geologic literature, members include both graduate students and faculty.
SJSU Rugby Club: Member (1996-98).
Skills:
Computer Skills: Competent with PC and Macintosh. Experienced with several spreadsheet, statistical, graphical and GIS packages. Limited experience with several slope-stability programs.
Statistics: Proficient in several statistical analyses.
Geologic Skills: Excellent and experienced at field mapping, data collection and logging, and remote sensing.

Work Experience:
Jan 2001-current: Student assistant at the California Division of Mines and Geology in San Francisco. Duties involve assessing geotechnical reports, map compilation, and some field research. Mostly involved with the Seismic Hazards Program and have assisted in the process of creating and compiling seismic hazard zone maps
Oct 1999-Jan 2001: Research assistant to Dr. Hector D'Antoni at NASA-Ames. Research involves understanding global climatic changes by remote sensing; examining and performing statistical tests on satellite images of South America. Duties include collection of data from satellite images, georeferencing remote sensing images, and performing statistical analysis on data.
Jan 1999-current: Research Assistant to Dr. Robert Miller at San Jose State University. Research involves helping create and maintain a database of structural data of rocks in the Cascades, Washington. Duties include data collection through field work, construction of structural maps, editing papers and reports, and maintenance of the database.
Aug 1998-Dec 2000: Teaching Associate at the Department of Geology, San Jose State University. Teach undergraduate students basic concepts in geology, as well as meteorology, oceanography, and astrology. Duties include creating laboratory assignments, lecturing, grading, and assisting on field trips.
Jun-Aug 1999: Teaching Assistant for a six-week undergraduate geology field course in eastern Nevada and eastern California. Duties included assisting students in field mapping, data analysis, report writing, and critiquing individual performances for a grade.
