Canvassed wells and measured water levels in the Pahrump and Amargosa Valley area. Prepared procedures.

Supervised geotechnical and hydrogeologic investigations for buildings, dams, storage tanks, highways, transmission lines, pipelines, landfills, sewage treatment plants, power plants, low-level radioactive disposal sites, leach pads and mining facilities in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, Texas, Colorado and Wyoming. Field functions included sampling and logging of soils and rock, trench logging, geologic mapping, fault investigations, landslides and rock falls, installation and development of monitor wells, pump testing and permeability testing. In addition work was performed on underground storage tank removals and evaluations of aggregate and borrow sources. Office functions included report writing, slope stability analysis, applying for well permits and variances, writing environmental site assessments, mine permits, preparing request for proposals, QA/QC procedures, budgets and schedules.

Performed gold exploration using drilling and geophysical methods. Staked mining claims. Drilled, blasted, loaded and hauled rock for rip rap. Inspector for a 34-lot subdivision. Prepared inventory of water resources and collected and ran field tests on water samples for the B.L.M.
4/81 - 1/83, SENIOR GEOLOGIST, Eisenman Chemical Company, Elko, Nevada.
Developed two major barite deposits. Performed core logging, geologic mapping and geophysical surveys. Calculated ore reserves and prepared mining plans. Evaluated barite, hematite and bentonite prospects in Nevada, California and Texas.

Supervised all aspects of subsurface investigations for power plants and other structures throughout the United States and St. Croix. Office functions included preparation of proposals, schedules, budgets, specifications, geotechnical reports and responses to Contractor's claims for differing site conditions. Field activities consisted of core logging, supervising the installation for monitor wells and piezometers. Performed pump tests and permeability tests including packer, falling head and constant head tests. Monitored blast vibrations and supervised and monitored instrumentation to measure rock and soils movement including strain gauges, inclinometer and extensometers. Conducted extensive geologic mapping of excavations and tunnels for the Washington, D.C. and Boston rapid transit systems.

Conducted uranium exploration in the Powder River Basin. This included logging drill holes, assessment work, interpreting geophysical well logs and calculating ore grade and reserves.

Supervised subsurface investigations for nuclear and coal-fired power plants, cooling ponds and dams. Performed geologic mapping, soils and core logging, trench logging and geophysical well log interpretation. Conducted exploration for rip rap, limestone and lignite. Correlated coal seams, prepared isopach and structural contour maps and calculated reserves for Kaiparowits coal deposit in southern Utah. Conducted reclamation and reseeding of area.

Conducted exploration for sedimentary uranium deposits including siting of drill holes, logging core and drill cuttings and geophysical well log interpretation. Performed geochemical surveys.
