Work History

1. Bechtel Corporation UAE Nov 2006 Present Training Manager

Duties: In charge of two large LNG ($6b+) projects in the Middle East, working outside of Abu Dhabi, UAE. Design and management of the Training contract between Bechtel and the Client. Manage two offices. Scheduled Vendors for Training, work with Contracts Dept. personnel, interface with Client PMC representative for handling all Training concerns. I designed the Training program to work within the contract. Bechtel is a good place to work with good people. I would like to find work that allows me to be home, more often.

2. KBR Iraq Sept 05 Nov 06 HR Training Mgr.

Duties: HR Manager to deliver Training for Managers/Supervisors in the field. Dispute resolution, conflict management, and communications. I finished the first contract of 12 months and was asked to take over as HSE Manager. My experience and accreditation in HSE provides me the skills to do this job. I left because it was a dangerous place and Bechtel had called me. I met some great people here.

3. Petrofac Georgia Jan 05 Aug 05 Training Manager

Duties: I was contracted to come to the Republic of Georgia to straighten out the Training program and to manage the 16 person staff and dept. I designed a Training plan to meet the company needs, made an organization chart for personnel, developed a schedule to track Training goals and interacted with Management in reporting and tracking of all Training for the company. The project was in financial trouble. I hired a lower paid person from the home office, trained him in the duties and returned home.

4. Harris County Houston June 05 Jan 05 Probation Officer

Duties: Juvenile Probation Officer for Harris County. Case worker with adolescents who had committed crimes. Record keeping, interacting with families, reporting. I had gone through a long period of unemployment and took this job to pay bills. When I got a call from Petrofac I left.

5. Fluor E.G. Africa. Oct 03 May 04 Special Projects Mgr.

Duties: I was contracted by Fluor to work at an ExxonMobil site to design and implement a Training program for the Equatorial Guinea citizens (students) who would be attending the Technical Training program by ExxonMobil for off-shore wells operation. I designed classroom, facilities, curriculum, and course syllabus, buy books and work with engineering firms for building design. I completed the tasks and returned home to Houston.

6. San Jacinto College Pasadena, Tex June 96 Oct 03 Dept. Chairman

Duties: I was hired, originally, as a college professor to design and implement a new college level program called 'Process Technology'. To college did not meet Texas state requirements for issuing a degree in Process Tech. I designed the course, course curriculum, and syllabus, bought books, interviewed teachers and began teaching. Later I was promoted to Dept. Chairman and ran two depts. Incl. Instrumentation. I managed a staff of 8 full time and 16 part-time teachers, was in control of the budget, payroll and dept. problems in general. I included Physics, Chemistry, Computer simulation, using (TDC-3000) for control of the process and also put HSE college courses (OSHA) as part of the program. I enjoyed this job, immensely and upon retirement, in another 4-5 years, I will want to teach part-time.

7. SADAF Saudi Arabia Nov 92 Nov 95 Training Specialist

Duties: I was hired to design and implement Technical Training courses for SADAF, a joint venture with Saudi and Shell. I designed the courses, and was asked to include HSE courses, and then, Management Training courses. I finished my first 2-year contract and was asked to extend another year. I have a 'letter of no objection' in my possession.

8. Union Carbide (UCC) Texas Feb 75 Nov 92 Plant Superintendent

Duties: Previous to UCC I had been a Craftsman Operator at Amoco Chemicals (DOW) for eight years, starting up new units. At UCC I was promoted to Shift Supervisor and took over the Chemical area. I was later moved to Maint. Manager because of my mechanical background in the USN (Machinist Mate) and also having worked as a Craftsman Machinist after the Navy. I was finally promoted again to Plant Superintendent. In that position I was responsible for the entire Operations of the 540 acre chemical plant, with a 460 acre marine terminal and 1,500 people. I was the Emergency Director and responsible for the safe handling of all emergencies. During this time I attended Lamar University and Texas A&M Univ. for: Hazmat, Hazwoper, Hazcom, OSHA, Emergency Mgmt., Fire/Rescu where I was an instructor at A&M Fire school. I interacted with Federal, State and local authorities and reported to senior management. I left after 18 years with partial retirement.

Education

Masters degree in Psychology from University of Houston Clear Lake in 1990.

Personal Information and Interest

I am happily married, have two sons and three step-daughters. I am in excellent health and come with a good attitude about life in general and getting along with other people. I enjoy carpentry work, fishing and gardening. I would like to find a job so that I can spend the next 3-4 years of giving my experience and hard work prior to going back to teaching on a part-time basis.
