Posses the ability to develop conceptual and or final mechanical designs, plot plans & equipment arrangements working from P&ID's or PFD's. Prepare complete detailed design drawings from P&ID's, edit specifications and review/markup construction shop drawings for many industries, worked in Petroleum & Chemical, Power Plants Coal, Oil & Nuclear, Marine, Process, Environmental and the Pharmaceutical industry. Coordinated with all related design disciplines design personnel. Additionally, trained new designers from other industries in field of piping design.
Effective in using the cad design tools of MicroStation, AutoCAD in 2D designs and/or 3D models. In addition to using these applications, have the knowledge and ability to cross train individuals from one application to the other. Designed and implemented microstation V8 workspaces for various clients PSE&G, Delmarva, PHI. Provided as needed training of personnel as required to meet project requirements. Prepared detailed arrangements and piping designs for fire protection systems Hudson Av. powerhouse Con Ed. and academy sub-station Con Ed. Responsible for the piping design and general layout arrangement of equipment for a power unit Gowanus South Pier Improvement Project, Power-Gen. Responsible for the natural gas compressor station for the Conectiv power station. Provided the methodology and design layouts and detail drawings for the NOX reduction of power stations. Developed a Piping design course for 8 employees of Visible Edge Nashua, NH.

Developed, coordinated and implemented CAD P&ID standards with specific training classes for Merck sites and their engineering partners. Coordinated the development of Bentley's application PlantSpace P&ID between Piping and Instrumentation disciplines, with project change controls. Represented CIE at turnover of projects for the P&ID's delivered. Provided ongoing telephone support for users of the new P&ID software and standards.

Utilizing piping layout, design and 3D cad skills, developed equipment arrangements, created Omni-Pipe design models and detail drawings using microstation and Isogen. Systems included the complete Aux. Steam and wastewater area for the Zhuhai coal fired power plant in China. Also provided in house 3D training for other designers.

As company owner along with four employees our mission was to "Provide Value Added Support & Sales for the 3D application of Omni-Pipe". Developed electronic versions of piping specifications, special model parts, custom menus and custom specialized training as needed by industry. Providing on site training, developing training classes using the clients actual design studies or a predefined class with established 3D equipment model and isometrics. In addition the company was contracted by Rebis to provide telephone worldwide telephone support for customers of the software application of Omni-Pipe (I.E. Foster Wheeler, Kvaerner, United Engineers, Air Products, City of San Diego, CA, Lockwood Greene).

Developed a training course and trained 8 instructors in basic MicroStation. Managed a program of training for designers without cad to get this training. Provided this training for 400+ multi-discipline designers over a one-year time frame. Developed and implemented 3D training classes for a various groups of designers as needed to suit project requirements. Working with other disciplines I created multi-discipline cad standards. CHARLES T. MAIN, Boston, MA 1974 – 1976
SENIOR PIPING DESIGNER
Prepared mechanical arrangements and piping designs for Scott Paper in Kentucky. This assignment consisted of field trips and consultations with the unit operators. Designed a replacement steam system for the dryer section of the paper machine utilizing Thermocompressors, with 6 new pressure reducing steam stations in an existing plant.
JACKSON & MORELAND, Boston, MA 1971 – 1974
PIPING DESIGNER / SENIOR DRAFTSMAN
Acquired the basics of piping design in the power industry and completed assignments in power systems of Boiler drains and vents, City water, condensate system. Created field sketches and a camera to document and make B&W photo drawings for a proposal to replace steam tracing system with Glycol tracing at an existing storage yard in Baltimore MD. Responsible for all of the steam and chilled water with condensate returns used by the Medical area new Power plant (MATEP) underground open cut tunnels to all the surrounding hospitals.
