1. Assisted in the development of a statewide comprehensive air emission inventory for Iowa. The inventory included emissions of six criteria pollutants and 188 hazardous air pollutants from industries, commercial businesses, residential activities, and mobile sources.
2. Collected emissions data and processed descriptions from industrial sources using an Emission Inventory Questionnaire. Provided assistance to facilities in completing the questionnaire by participating in workshops and consulting. Calculate facility emissions by using emission factors, material balance, stack test data, and emission models such as EPA's Tanks 4.0 software.
3. Estimated the emissions from small businesses and residential activities using national, state, or county activity data following the methods outlined in the Environmental Protection Agency Emission Inventory Improvement Program technical documents. Worked with research activity data using the internet and other government agency sources.
4. Worked on assuring emission inventory data according to Iowa DNR procedures and guidance. Verified emission factors, control efficiencies, mathematics, and acceptable assumptions.
5. Assisted in maintaining an air emission inventory database for the DNR.

Duties:
1. While as I was a student at Iowa State University, I did an internship at Unilever HPC NA Manufacturing Corporation, which consist of two units: Q-Tips for common ear swab and Prince Matchabelli for perfume manufacturing process. I performed the Material Safety Data Sheet update and classification by toxicity and department handling for over 525 in house chemical compounds.
2. As part of my responsibilities, I lead an ergonomic assessment project according to associates' health concerns (proactive and active). Physical health problems were identified as repetitive injuries syndrome (RIS), carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), and back injuries. Ergonomics design was applied as well as good and appropriate posture, biomechanical evaluations, and application of ergonomic devices.
3. I conducted a noise level assessment, which is one type of indoor workplace assessments, by using the db-3070 Noise Monitor.
4. I also worked on conducting indoor gases analysis (H2S, CO, O2, and LEL). These gases were measured at the horizontal centerline of suspected work area. We used the Aim Safety Co., Four Gas Monitor. The calibration and data obtained was kept on record at the company's environmental health and safety department. Hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, oxygen, and low explosive level must be on reasonable range according with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 29 CFR 1910.
