Operations Specialist
USAID funded infrastructure project involving construction of water and wastewater facilities for three Middle Egypt cities. Duties included development of an operations, maintenance, and training program for each facility including start-up and commissioning. USAID local government funded project responsible for providing tailored technical assistance and training to Serbian Communal Enterprises to improve their performance. Assistance given to local water/wastewater/solid waste companies in the fields of management, technical operations, and public relations/customer service to strengthen Enterprises to become more self sufficient. Classroom training and technical assistance provided on subjects such as: tariff reform, billing and collection policies, operations and maintenance manual development, water loss reduction/metering, solid waste management planning, customer service policies, public relations, financial strengthening, capital projects identification and packaging, long-term planning, and policy reform with the republic government. Also included training and capacity building of local advisors to carry on assistance. Coordination with other USAID programs and other international donors for directing funding for infrastructure improvements to communities. (November 2001 to March 2004)

Responsible for the coordination of public utilities within the Regional area and with municipal governments of Peje/Pec Region. Duties also included preparation of O&M manuals, and work with the facility water pre- treatment units before the RO/DI UHP water treatment. (February 1997 to August 1997)

USAID funded Canal Cities Water and Wastewater Project involving improvements to the City of Port Said in cooperation with the Egyptian Government and Suez Canal Authority. Responsible for implementation of the OM&T program of a design, build, and operation of a 100,000M3/D wastewater treatment plant, co-composting facility, and raw water pumping station. Duties included development of an O&M training program, start-up, direct advise and assist of operations and maintenance, preparation of manuals, and an environmental water testing program. (April 1996 to January 1997)

International Rescue Committee - TAJIKISTAN, N.I.S.
Water Supply Program Specialist
Responsible for the implementation of a water and sanitation program funded by UNHCR and USAID, involving rehabilitation and construction of existing water systems to assist refugees and effected persons due to civil war. Work entailed installation of deep and shallow-well handpumps, submersible pump operations and maintenance, latrine construction and rehabilitation, technical training, logistics, and field assessments. Worked also performed with UNICEF, Red Cross, and other NGO's. Supervised a staff of thirty persons. (August 1994 to August 1995)
