EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
* Diploma Chemical Engineering: completed 3 yrs. Diploma course with Honor of standing 4th (78.18%) in Chemical Engineering stream in the year August 1994 (Exam conducted by MSBTE, Maharashtra).
* Project: "Desalination by Reverse Osmosis" under the technical guidance of ION Exchange India Ltd. Ambernath, Dist. Thane.
* Presently doing Correspondence Masters Diploma in Biotechnology from Bioinformatics Institute of India (Batch October 2005 – September 2007).
PROFESSIONAL COURSES:
- Completed one year course of Mechanical Draughtsman from Academy of Technicians, Mumbai-28, with 70.00% marks in the year June 1991.
# Completed one month Training Program of "Process Control Instrumentation" (PLC based system) from Advanced Training Institute, Mumbai-22 in September 1997.
- Attended In-house cGMP Training program at Wyeth Ltd.(Faculty - Mr. Atul Shirgaonkar, Insight Systems Inc.Pune.)
- Attended the Civil Defense Basic (Unit) Course at Wyeth Ltd. in February 2000.
- Computer Skills: MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio, and AutoCAD 2000.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Trainee Diploma Engineer: Appointed as a Trainee from October 1994 – April 1995 in the Chemical Process & Fermentation Department, Wyeth Ltd. Mumbai-86.
- Plant Operator: Worked as a Plant Operator from May 1995 – January 2001 and Sr. Plant Operator from January 2001 – October 2005 in the Fermentation & Solvent Recovery Distillation Department, Wyeth Ltd. Mumbai-86.(Handed over the mfg. facility to Ariane Orgachem Pvt. Ltd. from September 2004.)
WORK PROFILE:
I have experience of handling the following Unit Operations, which involve the Preventive, Predictive Maintenance of operations. Regular checking of it's functioning and Overhaul.
They are:
A) Batch Chemical Processes/reactions (Hydrolysis, Hydrogenation, Bromination, Acetylation etc.) & Purification's using (GLVs & SS316) Batch Reactor (Vol.500L – 2500L).
B) Bio-transformation:
Operation of Aerobic Fermentation (Fermentor capacity 50L – 15000L) and Scale up/Process modifications.
1) Empty Steam Sterilization & Media preparation, steam sterilization of media, Air
Filter System and Process lines etc.
2) Sterile transfer of growth from Seed – Inoculum – Fermentor
3) Substrate charging for conversion under sterile condition.
4) Maintaining of process parameters viz. pH, Sparged Air flow-rate, Backpressure, Temperature, Scheduled Sampling, Foaming Control, Covn.Quenching, Sterility of the whole process etc.
C) Bio-separation & Purification:
a) Extraction: Operation of Various types Extraction Equipment and Systems.
- Podbialniak Centrifugal Extractor: Starting & Stopping, Changing the rpm According to Density of Extracting Broth, Maintaining of back-pressure, Flow rates of all incoming & outgoing fluids, Sampling etc. Opening of the Extractor for Cleaning & it's Overhaul.
- Static Mixer Extraction System: Operation of Static mixer along with it's assembly for Bacterial Broth Extraction at different flow rate.
- Agitated Tank extraction System and it's assembly with Solvent charging in the form of spray
b) Evaporation: Parallel & Series operation of Force-Feed-circulation Evaporators (Vacuum and Atmospheric operation)
c) Filtration & Drying: Operations of Rotary Drum vacuum filter, Basket Centrifuge, Crystalliser, Nutsche-type Filter, Rotary dryer, Tray dryer, Blenders, Granulator, V- Mixer, Automatic type Leaf filter, etc.
D) Operating knowledge of plant utility section of the company such as Fermentation air unit, Process air unit, Instrument air unit, Brine Plant, Water chilling plant, Cooling Towers, Air compressors, Centrifugal & Positive Displacement Pumps etc.
E) Solvent Recovery Distillation: Distillation of crude solvents using semi Automatic Fractionating Column (packed Tower). Crude solvents such as Methanol, Chloroform, Acetone, Ethylene Dichloride, Toluene, Methylene Chloride etc.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow the SOPs and cGMP while working on the shop floor.
- Product Batch size selection, Set, Maintain, Monitor & Control Process parameter, Filling of the Batch Tickets (BPR), Startup & Shutdown of all Operations etc.
- Maintain production Quality & product Yields.
- Control Inputs – Outputs within specified limits
- Maintain safety and good housekeeping of work area.
- Check and monitor day to day stock of crude and fresh solvent storage tanks in the Tank-farm area.
ACHIVEMENT: Actively participated in the Preparations of PID/PFD's, Tank Farm Diagram of the plants. Submitted Process Modification/Scale projects in the company and received appreciation letter from the Production Director.
