Supervised preparation, content & flow of system commissioning manuals for customer acceptance. 2005 ¨C 2006 Worley Parsons Iraq JV Area Engineer
Performed equipment assessment, engineering analysis for projects ranging from WCTP / GOSP, pumping stations, offshore loading terminal to well workover / water injection stations. Technically accountable for evaluating & selecting process mechanical equipment needs, defining / specifying equipment, scope of work definition, budgetary estimating, generating datasheets / specifications, issued requisitions packages, and ensured equipment and machinery upgrading / installation is correct. Established supplier¡¯s requirements¡¯ ensure that refinery process equipment is developed to operating parameters in compliance w/ current codes / plant requirements. Ensured that process equipment performed to specification, developed turnover documentation, ordered and cost justified capital equipment, trouble shot and solved specification problems. Reviewed vendor documentation, issued technical bids evaluation, reducing capital cost in compliance w/ FAR. Operated as a member of Squad Check Review for incoming process equipment and spare parts.
Involved in the early stages of the ABOT Project to evaluate tenders for the Deep Sea Terminal contract and followed through after contract award as the Area Support Engineer on the revamping contract for construction, installation and commissioning of the loading terminal.
2000 ¨C 2004 Onyx Co Project Coordinator
Assisted in operating a small general construction company.
Responsibilities included blueprint review and project analysis, preparation of construction documents, scheduling, subcontractor¡¯s selection and ensured compliance with specifications, codes, safety standards in desired timeframe, quantity and quality. Provided technical assistance to field engineers and craft foreman. Managed the toolbox meeting to assure compliance with safety and health regulations. Analyzed all applicable requirements [company, customer, regulatory] and developed work guidelines which encompassed the areas of performance, quality, and schedule and budget compliance. Ensured that all drawings, reports, schedules and other documents met the requirements of all relevant legislation, specifications, procedures and codes of practice. Ensured that all engineering support provided satisfied the appropriate asset safety case. Enforced that performance standards were not compromised by engineering activities. Contributed to the development of the workload, schedules and estimates for all the individual work scopes and integrated plans.
Remained with the company until legal dissolution.
1997 ¨C 1999 KBR Construction Engineer
Duties included construction and coordination, systems inspection and isolation for shutdown/maintenance, commissioning of the LNG plant and loading terminal. Responsible for off-sites mechanical outstanding punch lists, performed detailed precommissioning, prestartup inspections Interfaced on behalf of the subcontractors regarding area access, determinate local area requirements, planned / organized work with anticipation for needs, potential problems with foreign and local national subcontractors. Completely overhauled the LNG / LPG process equipment and facilities for Sonatrach - National Algerian Oil & Gas Co. Rebuild the concrete seawater intake and refurbished the vertical centrifugal pumps eliminating the outdated equipment. Overhauled / refurbished specific LNG process/mechanical equipment, valves, pumps, gas reinjection compressors, exchangers, and related piping / fittings up to 42". Removed & replaced firewall, superheater and damaged structure / refractory for 360t/h @ 70bar Mitsubishi boiler for GL1K # 1 ¡ú 6 LNG trains. Coordinated and supervised up to 200 construction personnel to assure preventive maintenance, breakdown repair and new equipment implementation.
1995 ¨C 1996 Doyle Construction Site Coordinator
Estimated work orders, ordered material and equipment, planned and scheduled manpower needs by craft. Scheduled work execution, obtained necessary permits, supervised craft activities, coordinated work plan to avert bottlenecks, monitored progress and performed QA/QC tasks. Conducted and documented weekly safety meetings. Prepared site daily reports and documentation as required. Accrued responsibilities included choke point troubleshooting, liaising with customers, organizing outside repair and service work, advising / ordering parts / materials and service on a range of construction equipment.
1993 ¨C 1994 Norse Mekaniske A/S Mechanical Supervisor
Mechanical technician jointed to a dedicated team for assemblies checks, testing and repairs of hydraulically operated cylinders and lifting equipment. Performed pre and post maintenance checks on equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation. Duties included monitoring the calibration and inspection of the testing bank, inventories and ordering replacements for unserviceable tools. Developed equipment down-time reports, prepared logs for repairs / preventive maintenance and in service hours. Ordered, received, stored and issued spare / repaired parts. Identified, recommended and implemented improvements to line procedures, equipment and/or facilities to enhance the productivity, quality or safety of products, processes and/or procedures.
1990 ¨C 1992 Pipera CHP Plant Power Plant Engineer
Major TPP equipment include 2 x 50t/hr B&W boilers @ 450 ¡ãC & 40 bar, 3 x 100Gcal/hr @ 2200 t/hr hot water generators, 2 x 3.5 MW ABB steam turbines, water treatment plant, heavy fuel oil / gas storage & heating facilities, steam / water distribution systems and voltage transformers. Managed, planned, evaluated and coordinated the execution of preventive / predictive and corrective maintenance, as well as outages. Successful capital projects include major upgrades to the heavy fuel / BM system and water treatment plant resulting in an annual savings of around 5%. Coordinated major retrofitting outage - 65% boiler water wall tube replacement and turbine overhaul. Assisted and acted as the plant liaison with outside agencies such as NPG ¨C national power grid, corporate office departments and outside contractors. Supervised represented employees within the confines of the collective bargaining agreement.
