2002 - as a chemical \ polymer operator in the chemicals \ plastics industry. Job titles- Polymer
Process operator, Utilities operator. Over this time I stayed at the same plant under four different owners; Foster Grant, American Hoechst, Huntsman, Nova chemicals.

JOB DUTIES ; Included but not limited to - monitoring manual and computer operated process to produce polystyrene, suspension batch processing, use of changing formulations to meet varying customer specifications, knowledge of different chemicals pertaining to reaction in process, inventory of raw materials used in process as well as inventory of finished product, manual cleaning of reactors and dryers with heavy polystyrene build-up, unloading of liquid chemical barges...Responsible for proper safety permits, observations and repair work orders. This job inclusive of control room and field operator duties.
As Utilities operator. .. waste and wastewater treatment, sludge disposal, process water make up, running emergency diesels and generators, boiler (gas and oil fired) usage, air compressor usage. Accountable to keep communications open between production, lab and utilities as not to hinder safety or prime production. Also, to keep necessary machinery running through minor repair or work orders to maintenance.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING ; HAZMAT First Responder, HAZWOPER, boom team, confined space rescue, training in relationship to safety, chemical usage and handling, MSDS Training. Served on the following ; production consistency improvement, plant audits, plant safety steering, and behavior based safety team(s).
