Seeking challenging long-term position as Telecom/Enterprise Network Systems Engineer.
IT Management/Team Lead role will also be of an interest.
* Significant Work Experience
Senior Network Engineer with 16 years of IT experience. Currently, holding position is Cisco resident engineer at STC NOC (Saudi Telecom Co.) supporting IP/MPLS Core Network. Previous experience with EDS includes Systems Integration, Network Operations (NOC) and Managed Network Security Services/Operations Center (SOC). Current position provided the opportunity to deliver a Telecom network operations and services level to a variety of STC clients:
* Provision and Support L2 VPN IP/MPLS services for business customers and government agencies.
* Provision and Support L3 VPN IP/MPLS services for business customers and government agencies.
* Technical Support for ISPs Internet services (national & International) through STC network.
* DSL home users Internet access support.
* Involved in NGN/3G (next generation network) mega project deployments with other vendors
* Handling trouble tickets and monitor IP/MPLS Core Network.
Overall career experience helped develop a vast range of skills to handle responsibilities and assignments in areas not limited to the followings:
* Monitor network infrastructure systems (including optical links core) for connectivity and performance statistics to identify and troubleshoot connectivity issues. Work trouble tickets. Recommend solutions to enhance functionality and reliability.
* Identify, analyze and devise solutions to network infrastructure equipments setup and installation in IP/MPLS core network.
* Act as a liaison between the client, suppliers and other technical groups to resolve incidents. Work with Local Saudi Telecoms and ISPs (AwalNet, Cyberia, Nesma, Zajil, and Sahara) for scheduled network infrastructure changes, outages and incidents management.
* Interact with customers and STC teams (Project, Business, Account Rep's and field Techs teams) to gain understanding of business environment, technical context and organizational strategic direction.
* Participate in project implementations, system upgrades, break/fix change controls and technology conversions which demanded the ability to manage projects within scope of responsibility.
* Define scopes, plans and deliverables for assigned projects. Coordinate and collaborate with other teams to ensure solutions meet customer needs and expectations.
* Assist in prepare system infrastructure documentation and business continuity controls. Identify, develop, update and enforce standards and procedures
* Past experience helped develop following soft skills:
1. Responding to incidents/outages. 2. Decision Making (urgency/impact, emergency break/fix, process deviation,) 3. Information gathering (Leadership reporting, daily post-outage meetings, process improvement). 4. Escalation & Engagement (leadership, Vendors, customer,.. .etc)
5. Assignment of incidents ownership and resources. 6. Balance team member's workload
7. Tickets queue management (tickets handled in timely fashion and standards meet)
8. Monitor/Facilitate Downtime (Client SLA-metrics and Vendor SLA-metrics ETA/ETR)
9. Facilitate Meet-Me-Lines/Bridge calls (technical and business). 10. Assist problem owner with vendor escalation (if required). 11. Review all closed tickets for ticket handling, root cause, severity, duration, initial SLA compliance. 12. Daily review of Sev1/Sev2 tickets. 13. Communication (leadership, vendors, team members, field service technicians and customers).
* Firewalls (PIX/ASA) & VPN network security management and support.
* Hold ITIL Foundation (Certification# 38740). Follow and Adhere to ITIL methodologies in the areas of service level management, change management, incident management, problem management, configuration management, capacity management and availability management.
* Provide remote support and on-call phone technical assistance to peer groups and clients.

CiscoWorks2000 (CW2K): Used CW2K to Review 24-hrs Syslog messages reports by severity-level, configuration files mgmt (running, startup, most recent archives), device inventories, devices graphic view (CiscoView), IOS upgrade/push,config changes, trap notification, view physical network maps and track user by MAC (campus manager), execute group of commands.
Cisco Transport Manager (CTM 7.0): Used CMT for BoA Optical BB (OC 192 SONET) secondary monitoring (10sec. Poll)). BB consist of a pair of 12000 series routers (12410/12406) in 13 Major cities across US. Topology then extends to MAN OC 48 SONET built using Cisco 10720 routers. Operator-access monitoring only (provisioning done by ISP) for Optical BB network maps and 12000 routers properties (POS interfaces/modules metrics). Used CTM DashBoard view to respond and Ack. different colored severity current/historical alarms (loss of signal, Up/down POS interface, power-level,. .etc). Looked at performance data collected from BB optical topology. Used auto-discover of chassis for inventory purposes.
IP Solution Center (ISC 5.0): Used ISC 5.0 for L2 & L3 IP/MPLS Pre/Post circuit provisioning and activation for STC business and governmental customers. Troubleshooting and support for Ethernet, MPLS, VRFs configs.
Manage AS, Regions, IP address pools, Pseudo-wire VC pool and vlan pools. Used to build Hub-n-spoke, full mesh, partial mesh VPN services.
