PhD Accomplishment
As an employee of the Clean Energy Research Center (CERC) in affiliation with the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, University of South Florida, I did the following:
* Prepared and wrote comprehensive technical research reports for the United States Department of Energy (DOE)
* Project management and co-prepared research proposals
* Developed and formulated a novel anode nano-electrocatalyst metal composite which has high catalytic active area to enhance the electrochemical cell kinetics in splitting of (100 %) hydrogen sulfide content feed gas.
* Designed and fabricated an electrolytic cell apparatus for hydrogen sulfide splitting; an apparatus for monitoring and control of hydrogen sulfide, sulfur (similar to sulfur compartment in sulfuric acid battery) and hydrogen flow
* Developed a novel approach to enhance the ionic conductivity of cesium hydrogen sulfate, a solid inorganic crystal whose proton conductivity increases by four orders of magnitude at elevated temperatures, by applying process modeling technique and by mechano-chemical pulverization method.
* Designed an array of experiments, using statistical factorial experimental design, to examine the effects of different electrocatalysts applications, electrolyte thicknesses and voltage inputs on the current density and performance of the system
* Designed and implemented a LabView program used for the entire process
* Successfully applied the apparatus fabricated to split (100 %) H2S content feed gas electrolytically to two saleable products- hydrogen and sulfur. The process was also operated in fuel cell mode to generate electricity, water and sulfur
* Examined the factors that affect electrolyte thickness such as, permeability and mechanical integrity
* Carried out system optimization, process scale-up and economic analysis capable of reducing the cost of sulfur production section of the integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power plants and other related oilfield applications
MS Accomplishment
* Successfully developed, designed and applied both batch and plug flow reactors in the production of pharmaceutical intermediate (4-Methoxy-acetophenone). The design process incorporated the application of heterogeneous catalysis (zeolites) and the use of supercritical carbon dioxide as solvent.

* Teaching Assistant Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer: Graded homework, prepared answer solutions, assisted students individually for help on homework and projects, facilitated review sessions, proctored and graded mid-term exams (Spring 2004- Fall 2007)
Industry Experience:
Dow Corning Corporation, Greensboro, NC
Production Intern (June 2001-August 2002)
* Performed material handling analysis for quality control purposes, and application of LabView software in the manufacture of antifoam, lubricants, compounds and grease
* Co-prepared batch record and production run sheet
* Acquired knowledge of process plant operation, participated in plant operation and maintenance
* Participated in new product scale-up and equipment troubleshooting
* Application of statistical process control using SAS program in production processes
