Delivering aggregate material to clients in Western Nevada. Took position due to lack of work in the Reno area for construction.
Mass Excavation Foreman, 2005-2007
Atlas Contractors, Inc. Sparks, Nv
Constructed subdivisions and commercial sites. Onsite supervisor. Usually supervised 3-20 employees depending on project needs. Estimated production schedules for mass excavation for dozer/scraper operations. I did rough and finish grading for house and building pads, streets, sidewalk, curbs and slopes. Set grades for slopes, swales, streets, channels, curb and gutters, and sidewalks. Operated finish blade majority of the time as a working foreman. Operated all other machines when needed. Instructed toolbox safety meetings daily, and major issue safety meetings on Thursdays. Worked closely with Grading Superintendent, Underground Utility Superintendent and Foremans, Paving Superintendents and Foremans, Project Owners, and government inspectors, to insure all aspects of the project were on track and on time.
Operator/Laborer Foreman 2004-2005
The Ryan Company, Tauton, Mass.
Worked on a new waste water treatment plant as a backhoe operator. Promoted to Operator/Laborer foreman by Structures Superintendent. Led excavations on all buildings and piping within the new Sewer Treatment Plant. Very enviromentally sensitive area of San Luis Obispo, Ca. I spent 8 months there, but talks of possible company closure by parent company Quanta, made me decide to return to Reno.
Grading Foreman-2002-2004
Peavine Construction
Worked only in the private sector on one very large master planned community and one storage facility. Supervised 5-15 operators. Used Trimble GPS to set up most of the subdivisions, used GPS and lasers to finish lots, handheld and machine controlled. Most decisions were made by Grading Superintendent, I just followed instructions.
Mass Excavation Foreman, 2000-2002
CBK, Inc. Las Vegas, Nv
Was a full charge foreman. I managed up to eight projects at one time. Setting up project, lay-out, organizing crew, ordering machines, and all paper work.We did private work such as subdivisions and commercial projects, and high rise ground work excavations. In the public sector were various new schools and additions to two college campuses. Little to no supervision from Superintendent, or company owner. Spent time in the field, as well as in the office. Internal problems caused to company to close its' doors.
From 1997-2002 I worked for various union shop companies mostly in the Las Vegas area. Some as a foreman others as an operator. I spent four months in 1997 on a flood project in Walker Canyon, Walker California. Excavating 10 feet below river bottom, and building new river path, that was destroyed by the flood, installing various size rip rap. I have experience working on airport projects grading, installing new lighting (piping only), with swales, and numerous grade breaks, using laser and GPS, to lay base with a paver for a tarmac, and finish grading it with the TopCon 3D Macine Control laser system to grade within -.02 of finish product..

I have 25 years of experience in civil construction. I have worked on major highways, steep terrain, tight access, commercial, heavy industrial and residential projects, both public and private sector. Like to be faced with challenges. I know how to move dirt, and take moving it seriously. I can read and interpret plans, and can set grade. I have no tolerance for sloppy work. I am both old and new school able.

ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Lee Vining Cal. Left in 1983 to pursue a career in construction.
I am married with five children and two step children. Grandpa of two. Three of the five are out on their own.. I am no longer affiliated with any union. I am currently driving a triple transfer dump truck for a friend since construction is slow here in Reno. I believe that being punctual, getting to work is priority, and safety is mandatory at all times. I have a great work ethic. I like to be prompt, and expect others I work with to be. I do not use any form of illegal drugs, nor do I ever come to work hungover or drunk, and when in a supervisory position, I send those home that do. I adhere to company policy and safety regulations. I take these very seriously. I am willing to travel as the projects change.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I have nearly 25 years of experience in grading and underground utility construction. I have operated all sizes of excavators from mini's to an Hitachi 1800. Loaders of all sizes. Dozers D3 to D11R. Cat, John Deere, and Volvo blades. Most brands of rubber-tired backhoes. Scrapers; paddlewheel, conventional and twins. Multi-terrain and skid steer tractors. I have worked on house pads to super arterials, city streets, commercial sites, industrial power plants, water and waste water treatment plants, bridges and specialty jobs. I can read and interpret plans, and set grade. I have installed water lines, class 150 and C900, and ductile to 48 inch. Sewer to 60 inch, and storm drain from 8 inch plastic to 144 inch multi plate culvert, and 10' x10' triple box, pour in place and pre-cast concrete. I have finished slopes with dozers, blades and excavators. I have ran excavator/haul truck operations, and worked with drilling/blasting operations. I also have experience in sand and gravel/crushing operations.
I have 10 years experience of being a supervisor, and expect attention to detail. I have worked numerous types of project applications and used many different styles to complete a task. I am willing to travel if project calls for it. I consider myself an expert in this field.
