Harbor & River Pilot
 As a Harbor Pilot in Guiria, Venezuela, set ships' courses that avoid reefs, outlying shoals, and other hazards, utilizing navigational aids such as lighthouses and buoys. Direct courses and speed of ships, based on specialized knowledge of local winds, weather, water depths, low and upper tides, currents and hazards. Steer ships (cruise vessels (POD), general cargo, tankers and barges) into and out of berths.
 Ship to ship transfers, FSPO operations SMP and SBM operations.
 Docked, towing and pushing operation with Tankers, Tug boats and barges engaged in crude oil transportation and fuel oil delivery barges.
 Safely move barges and rigs using anchor patterns from 06 up to 08 mooring points, due the nature of the operations carried out it was essential to remain on board during long periods of time acting as a harbor master overseen the entire operation.
 First Responder to marine emergencies for incident investigations, fire fighting, pollution control, search and rescue. As a Port Authority in charge to coordinate all the parties involved.
 Implemented the International Safety Management Code, ISO 9001:2000 Certifications in the office, Conduct audits and vetting inspections on behalf the port authorities, International and Port Facility Security Code enforcement to port activities, implementation of the International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals in the operations carried out in the Gulf as a model and standard for all oil operations.
 Facilitated port activities through communications between ship's agents, owners (Conoco Phillips, Crowley, Texaco, Shell, Tide Water, Perenco, Zaramella and Pavan, Global Maritime, Petrobras and PDVSA), customs and authorities.

 Monitored liquid cargo like (oil, fuel oil, chemicals). Loading and discharging. Ballast tanks for ship stability.
 Ensure that the loading arm(s) and hoses are drained, purged and disconnected prior to ship movement and that ESD (emergency shutdown devices)
 Participate in pre-loading meeting to define and implement the loading sequence such as tank status on arrival, cool-down procedure, bulk loading procedure, de-ballasting.
 Maintain formal records of each loading activity (Bill of lading, export certificates, calculations…) Inspect and give approval regarding the quality of water from segregated ballast tanks prior to discharge.
