PROFILE:
Extensive background in virtually all high performance composites: Kevlar, S-Glass, E-Glass, Carbon Fiber, Unidirectional, Biaxial, Triaxial, Quadaxial materials in Standard and pre-pregs, as well as processes: Open Molding: Hand Lay-Up, Spray-Up, and Closed Molding.
Skilled in troubleshooting and problem resolution; training and management of Composite Technicians, Spray System Operators, Vacuum Bagging Technicians and Open Molding Laminators, quality control, adherence to work order specifications, and equipment maintenance with a primary focus on MVP spray system / pump system equipment.

EMPLOYMENT:
Sankuer Composite Technologies (SCT), Fair Haven, MI – Outside Consultant / Project Manager – Aug 2009 to present
SCT deals primarily in the manufacturing of high performance composite parts, tooling and limited run prototyping. Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, S-Glass, epoxies – high and normal temperature cured, pre-preg's, closed and open molding and RTM.
My responsibilities at SCT included:
Building a complete set of prototype race car tooling, built entirely of epoxy. Went on to build the first set of parts pulled from the tooling made of Carbon Fiber and Nomex Honeycomb, low temperature post cured.

Sunsation Performance Boats, Algonac, MI – FRP Operations Manager – 3/04 to 12/08
A privately owned high performance / pleasure boat manufacturing company known in the industry for its attention to detail, commitment to customers and strong work ethic, as well as for their near zero warranty issues.
I was responsible for the selection, training, performance management, counseling / disciplinary actions, salary administration, quality control and daily administration of the lamination division. Lead, direct and manage site operations. Maintained a professional and safe working environment by inspecting and scheduling maintenance, and ensuring that all equipment is in safe working condition. Utilized superior communications skills to motivate staff and develop effective working relationships with peers, executives and clients. Addressed all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with company personnel policies and procedures.
I trained and supervised 20+ employees in all aspects of boat building, spray system operation and the production of 28', 32' and 43' high performance offshore powerboats.
I scheduled projects to maintain a streamlined and on time system of boats going through production and had to perform final inspection on all composite parts from bare molds to finished blanks.
I handled the ordering of all materials, supplies and tools necessary to run the day to day activities involved in lamination.
As a Sunsation Safety Committee member I attended regular meetings, filled out accident reports and was responsible for prevention and safety measures.
As a member of the Management team, I worked alongside the owners and upper management of the company to key in on problem areas companywide that caused waste / excess cost.
I processed, organized and scheduled day to day operations along with projecting and forecasting future goals using a PC.
Sunsation "F4" development team member – primarily responsible for designing / introducing the laminate schedule / materials used on the 43' – F4 model, built advanced ceramic / fiberglass hybrid molds for the F4 project, ensuring that they went through the lamination division without slowing down or interrupting the day to day operations and production.
I was credited with numerous process / protocol / laminate schedule contributions as well as the introduction and implementation of advanced techniques and procedures.
I worked on sales, promotional and marketing concepts, products and correspondence.
I also was responsible for researching, testing and evaluating new materials and processes as well as new technologies.

Ocean Express Powerboats, Algonac, MI – Plant / Operations Manager – 8/1991 to 3/2004
A family owned and operated high performance / pleasure boat company building high speed custom offshore catamarans. The founder and company are credited with building the first all composite catamaran in the world. Their models went on to win several world and national championships, and hold a kilo record.
As the Manager for Ocean Express, I worked throughout the company in many various roles: lamination, tooling, design, sales, research, development, testing and evaluating, finance, delivery. As a family member, no role was above or beneath me in my time there.

RECOGINITION:
Sunsation's "F4" model went on to win two separate "Powerboat of the Year Awards" at the 2007 Powerboat Magazine Awards Ceremony. This is the first time that a single boat has ever been awarded two awards in the same year.
