PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Researcher (PG Dept. of Biotechnology, University Of Mysore) (Jan. 1995 ¡V Oct. 1997)
* Carried out an extensive field survey in the highly coffee berry borer infested areas of Kodagu district,
* Isolated twelve different indigenous isolates of entomopathogenic fungus pathogenic to Coffee berry borer.
* Purified the isolates and maintained them on agar slants, as lyophilized cultures, and agar stabs. Tested the isolates for their virulence against the pest under different RH conditions and under different agroclimatic field conditions.
Lecturer (PG Dept. of Biotechnology, University Of Mysore)(Oct. 1997- Apr 1998)
* Delivering theory lectures on different subjects in biotechnology for PG Students.
* Planning and conducting laboratory classes
* Writing, planning, execution and Management of student project.
Junior and Senior Research Fellow. (PG Dept. of Biotechnology, University Of Mysore) (May 1998 ¡V Arp.2000 and May 2000- Sep.2002)
Worked for my Doctoral degree on the thesis entitled "Biotechnological Approach in Developing Beauveria bassiana as a Biocontrol Agent Against Coffee Berry Borer"
* Isolated, characterized (morphologica, physiological, biochemical and molecular) and formulated four indigenous isolates of B. bassiana (Bb1 to Bb4) isolated from coffee berry borer cadavers
* Tested the most virulent isolate Bb2 for its pathogenicity in mice. Histological and microbiological study revealed that the fungus was non toxic. The non-target effect of Bb2 on honeybees was carried out.
* Mass multiplication process for producing the biocontrol agent in bulk was standardized.
* Formulations of the biocontrol agent was prepared for delivery to the farmers.
* The process of mass multiplication and formulation has been patented by DBT, Government of India.
Lecturer, Under graduate degree in Biotechnology, JSS College of Arts, Comerce and Science, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysore. Oct. 2002 ¡V Aug. 2003
* Delivering theory lectures on different subjects in biotechnology for UG Students.
* Planning and conducting laboratory classes
* Writing, planning, execution and Management of student project.
Lecturer, Under graduate Bachelor of Engineering degree in Biotechnology, Sri Jayachamarajendra college of Engineering, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysore. Oct. 2003- Till date.
* Delivering theory lectures on different subjects in biotechnology for UG Engineering Students.
* Planning and conducting laboratory classes
* Writing, planning, execution and Management of student project.
* Guided five students of B.E. Biotechnology to carryout small project work in the field of Biotechnology and to apply for 'Kishore Vigyan Prothsahan Yojana (KVPY) - 2004' Fellowships offered by Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India
* Writing, Planning and execution of research projects
* Management of student developmental activities
* Establishment of laboratories
* Management of student developmental activities is the one, which has always challenged me. I initiated the formation of 'NEOGENE' a student association of biotech engineers in 2003. I have been instrumental in encouraging and guiding the students in bringing out a half yearly newsletter "INSIGHT" to inculcate good scientific writing skills among the students
