Ecological Duties
Complete wildlife surveys for protective species including bald eagles, red-cockaded woodpeckers, Sherman's fox squirrels, scrub jays, gopher tortoises, sandhill cranes and scrub lupine, Curtiss' Sandgrass and pitcher plants. Conduct bird surveys at the Orlando International Airport and prey reduction techniques. Research literature and databases for listed species data, obtain permits and approvals from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to complete gopher tortoise excavations and relocations, conduct initial site evaluations and wetland and stream delineations. Electro-fish shocking, water quality sampling and construction site evaluations.

Reporting Duties
Preparation of permit applications and technical reports for federal, state, and local agencies (Nationwide Permits, Individual Permits, Management and Storage of Surface Waters Permits, Environmental Resource Permits, Dredge and Fill, and Wetland Resource Permits) vegetative monitoring (qualitative and quantitative) relative to permit and regulatory requirements.

Project Management Duties
Global Position System (GPS), using CMT and Trimble units and Graphic Information System (GIS) experience in land use and mapping analysis using ArcView GIS 3.2a. Manage projects to assure that project goals and objectives are maintained within contracted budgets. Prepare progress reports for existing clients. Interact and correspond with landowners, developers, engineers, lawyers, surveyors, and regulatory agency personnel to meet project objectives. Prioritize work assignments for multiple projects to meet project deadlines. Review permit conditions and conduct post-permit construction supervision. Ability to work independently or as part of a project team under a variety of conditions.
