SYNOPSIS OF EXPERIENCE
a. Working in the area of Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering since earning Ph. D. Degree in Civil Engineering in 1964 under late Prof. Ven Te Chow at the University of Illinois.

b. involved earlier in education, research and training in the area of Hydrology, Water Resources and Civil Engineering at IIT, Kanpur, for more than two decades and a decade in an under graduate engineering institution and 4 years recently in another undergraduate engineering institution and now in GIS in a Postgraduate Institution.

c. Has guided particularly computer oriented thesis research at M.Tech and Ph. D. level at IIT Kanpur and at National Institute of Hydrology field oriented research problems.

d. Has developed or guided developement and/or implementation of several computer oriented algorithms in several areas of Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering and applied them to practical problems.

e. Has published a number of technical papers in technical journals and presented papers in national and international conferences; organised and participated in training programmes, and special courses; has been a member of editorial panels of journals ( for e.g., Journal of Hydrology for 3 years); has participated in national and international hydrologic activities; etc.

f. Has successfully established the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee, India, the national research Institution in the area of hydrology and water resources.

g. Has been a consultant to a number of field organisations in the area of hydrology and water resources. The areas include resources estimation, hydrologic design for floods, water distribution systems, drainage systems and water resources systems planning, operation and optimal design.

h. Has been an editor of the Journal of Hydrology and similar Journals in India.

b. Amritsar City / Bhatinda Water Distribution System Design: World Bank / Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board - Design of the water distribution systems for the two cities of Amritsar and Bhatinda.

Urban Runoff in Developing Countries - Kanpur Subproject: NERC UK / Institute of Hydrology, Wallingford, UK - Establishment of data logger based rain gauges and depth cum doppler velocity meters in two urban watersheds in Kanpur, India at IIT and Jajmau along with digital electromagnetic Current meters for rating the drains; and their use for collection of urban rainfall - runoff data.
