- Planning and coordination of Quality Assurance activities for water treatment and distribution
- Preparation and controlling of the section budget
- Supervision of Water, Trade effluent, Sewage and Bacteriological Laboratories, reviewing and improving laboratory procedures and equipment.
- Conducting trials of new chemicals to be introduced in the water treatment process.
- Pollution control i.e. inspection and issuing of effluent discharge permits and recommending remedial measures to be taken.
- Checking sewage effluent analytical results for Environmental Management
Agency compliance and advising the superintended on remedial measures.
- Representative of Zimbabwe National Water Authority on Public Consultations for EIA
- Attending to water quality complains by consumers.

2. CITY OF HARARE: Sept 2000 – May 2005
(Water and Sewerage Section)
Position Analytical Chemist
Duties:
- Portable water, waste water and sludge analysis
- Performing Jar Tests to determine optimal chemical doses for raw water processing
- Quality control checks of incoming water treatment chemicals, raw water and final water
- Monitoring of chemical reactions in the water treatment process and advising the plant superintended on remedial measures to be taken.
- Conducting Limnology tests and recommending water abstraction levels
- Managing the sampling and testing of industrial effluent and storm water in compliance with City by- Laws.
- Organising the sampling activities
- Calibration of laboratory equipment like AAS, UV-Vis, GC, balances, turbidity meters etc.

3. DEPARTMENT OF ROADS: July 1996 – Aug 2000
Positions: Materials Testing & Research Officer
Duties:
- Quality control of road construction materials (water, soils, aggregates, bitumen, PVC-Tar and paints)
- Carrying out research into Bitumen, Tar Technology and High Way problems. This entails laying out field trails whose performance is monitored over a period of time.

- Research in labour based technology i.e. development of new methods and techniques in labour based surfacing and use of locally available materials.
