Environmental Scientist
Mr. Olive is responsible for project planning, development, organization, execution and management of ECG's Cross Connection Control/Backflow Prevention Projects for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District in South Korea. He conducted kickoff and outbrief meetings, ensuring client understanding and satisfaction. Mr. Olive conducted data collection and inventory of entire water supply system for over thirty U.S. military installations. He acted as an instructor for associated database training programs for each surveyed installation as well as providing technical support to the database users. Mr. Olive produced the Draft and Final Findings and Recommendations Reports, which included survey findings, database reports, cost analysis, corrective action, and preventive measures.

Mr. Olive is the lead Environmental Scientist for ECG's Source Water Assessment Projects at the Jasper and Cullman Water Treatment Plants. Work entails collection of watershed field data, data integration into a variety of geographic information systems (GIS) software packages, identification and interface with a variety of potential pollution sources, interface with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM), and report writing and production.

Mr. Olive was also tasked with monitoring and executing certain the field office administrative activities, to include, monitoring contract performance; providing project management support; providing customer interface; monitoring future government requirements and programs; and managing all phases of the solicitation and proposal process.

Sedgefield Plantation, Wildlife Management Area    June 1999 ¡V September 1999

Mr. Olive participated as a college intern on a 14,000-acre management area. His activities included: designing and installing an alternative waste water system to be used for the plantation kennels; assisting in the stocking and management of all plantation lakes; recordkeeping for all lake stocking activities; and managing deer, turkey and bobwhite quail levels. Mr. Olive also built drainage ditches to improve roads, implemented a predator control-trapping program and performed general and aesthetic maintenance.

Alabama on Site Waste Water Training Center    March 1998 - May 1999

Mr. Olive conducted the installation of five Alternative waste water systems and performed routine maintenance on these systems.

Research Grant: Monitoring Peat Bio-filter System    January 1998 - May 1999

Mr. Olive was a Research Assistant performing monthly assays on three systems in Tuscaloosa, AL. These assays included: Ammonia, pH, Nitrates, Phosphates, Dissolved Oxygen, Biological Oxygen Demand, Total Suspended Solids, and Coliform Bacteria Tests.
UWA Department of Natural Science and Mathematics    March 1997 - September 1998
Mr. Olive set up and assisted in freshman Biology labs, to include gathering specimens for use in the laboratory. He also conducted daily laboratory and equipment maintenance.
EPA Grant: Outdoor Environmental Service Center    May 1997 - August 1997
Mr. Olive assisted in the development of self-guided nature trail, to include the design, production and installation of Tree Identification Markers.

Boll Weevil Eradication Program    April 1996 - October 1996

Mr. Olive acted as the Quality Control Field Technician and developed weekly reports on trapping status.
