Federal Services Department Manager. Responsible for all aspects of Department management including strategic planning, Federal business development, project management, administrative and personnel management, and profit and loss. The Federal Services Department served government and commercial clients with environmental consulting, remediation, waste management, and decontamination and decommissioning services for radioactive, mixed, and hazardous waste projects. Prepared business plans, developed marketing materials including Statements of Qualifications and SF-254/255s, conducted client marketing trips, attended networking venues, identified and interviewed staff for hire, managed proposals, and managed new and ongoing projects.
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., Denver, Colorado (April 1995 - June 2001)
Senior Project Engineer, Denver Engineering (January 2000 - June 2001). At the request of the "Alliance Director", transferred to the “Denver Engineering” organization to support an important new alliance contract. Performed Project Management for ten (10) facility infrastructure projects under a large “Alliance” contract with Coors Brewing Company. Value of projects managed in Year 2001 was approximately $6MM. Duties included project scope, schedule and budget development and control; subcontractor management; coordination and direction of in-house and subcontracted technical staff; and direct client interface, negotiation, and communication. Projects involved all phases from conceptual and feasibility studies through design, procurement, and construction. During year 2000, managed projects totalling approximately $3.7MM.
Manager, Environmental Engineering, Denver Federal Operations (July 1996 - January 2000). Managed a group of engineers and scientists performing environmental investigation, permitting, and remediation system design and construction projects. Performed group administration, project management, staff development and mentoring, senior technical support, and business development. Significant project accomplishment included completion of a multi-task order project as Lead Engineer and Task Manager on a multi-disciplinary, $9.6MM CERCLA groundwater and soil investigation and remediation system design and construction project for the US Air Force. This project was the first environmental remediation design/build project for the Denver office. Led it from inception through successful completion. The project resulted in a 100% award fee evaluation and a Jacobs'

“I Delighted My Client” award to the project team. Business development activities included leading proposal preparation, participating in sales calls and presentations, and support of strategy planning to develop new clients. Served as lead for integration of environmental business development and project execution efforts between the Jacobs' Denver Environmental (Federal Operations) and Denver Engineering (commercial sector) organizations.
Environmental Engineer (April 1995 - July 1996). Directed and mentored senior and junior technical staff during completion of environmental engineering projects. Provided senior technical support to large CERCLA feasibility studies and demolition planning and remediation projects. Managed a project for remediation planning and oversight at a mine smelter site in Leadville, Colorado. Assisted with marketing efforts for large remediation procurements including preparation of proposals and membership on a proposal Red Team. As a result of performance during this period, was promoted to Environmental Engineering Group Manager after 15 months.

Associate Engineer. Performed senior technical support, technical oversight, and project management on projects to remediate sites contaminated with hazardous substances. Managed project budgets and schedules, led preparation of deliverables, directed and mentored junior engineers, and conducted client technical meetings and presentations. Projects included remedial investigations, feasibility studies, pilot tests, and remediation work plans for commercial and Government clients.
Dames & Moore, Denver, Colorado (March 1993 - November 1993)
    Project Manager, DOE and Nuclear Programs Group. Managed projects and provided senior technical support and staff mentoring on environmental remediation and waste treatment study projects for the US Department of Energy (DOE) and DOE-contractor clients. Managed multi-disciplinary teams during completion of multi-task projects. Was responsible for scope, schedule, and budget performance. Projects included mixed waste treatment and remediation and uranium mill tailings studies. Completed CERCLA and RCRA projects. Performed marketing activities including preparation of proposals and participation at client marketing meetings.

    Manager, Engineering Design and Analysis Section, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Managed a staff of engineers performing hazardous, radioactive, and mixed waste management and remediation projects for DOE clients. Responsibilities included project management, senior technical support, staff supervision and development, business development, and business strategic planning.
    Project Manager, Nuclear/Mixed Waste Engineering Services, Knoxville, Tennessee. Performed business development activities, project management, and provided senior technical support. Managed and prepared proposals to perform mixed waste projects for the DOE. Provided senior technical support and project management on large environmental projects. Was selected for IT's "Successor Training" program for management personnel.
    Project Manager, Civil and Environmental Engineering Group, Edison, New Jersey. Managed environmental engineering and remediation projects for private-sector clients. Managed State-led remediation projects and RCRA closures. Conducted project presentations and regulatory meetings. Performed business development including management and preparation of proposals and attendance at client sales and marketing meetings.

Volunteer Project
    February 1994 - November 1996. Was an active member of the "Oasis Project," a volunteer organization of engineers and scientists with a mission to provide environmental consulting services in developing countries. Our inaugural project, the "Serpukhov Environmental Improvement Project," was to provide expert consultation and implementation support for clean up of a large PCB site located in Serpukhov, Russian Federation. As Remediation Engineer, identified solutions for site remediation and supported project strategy decisions and fund-raising efforts. In October 1996, traveled to Moscow and Serpukhov to meet with our Russian counterparts and City officials to discuss the project approach and fund-raising efforts. The project was subsequently disbanded due to a lack of funding.
