PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

1999 – 2003    Senior Hydrologist

Urban Runoff Sampling and analysis Project, Ramallah, Palestine. Urban hydrology: quantitative and qualitative assessment of viability of use of urban runoff water as alternative resource and/or as recharge to local aquifer. Devised rain and runoff monitoring network and sampling program for interstorm variation of runoff quality. Installed raingauge and pressure transducer network for urban water quantity measrements. Supervised and trained hydrological and hydrochemical technicians and data analysts. Analysed resultant rain, runoff and chemical data.

1998 – 1999    Hydrologist/Hydrogeologist

UN-funded project, Ramallah, Palestine. Constructed lithologic and hydrologic logs, evaluated and assessed contaminated sites. Responsible for technical review of modeling (drilling, water resources, etc) reports in projects implemented by CDM/Morganti (USAID), CH2MHILL (USAID). Designed, conducted and analyzed pumping tests.

1997 – 1998     Hydrology/hydrogeology Fieldworker

UBC (Vancouver BC): implementation of a groundwater study of 1km2 area (Summerland, B.C). Installed deep and shallow piezometers throughout study area for horizontal and vertical groundwater flow. Measured stream velocities and discharge/recharge for water budget study. Conducted seepage and mini-piezometer tests. Surveyed locations and elevations of installed piezometers.
