* Participated in a recycled water project, conducted feasibility study on plant secondary effluent tertiary treatment, using membrane filtration technique. Familiar with related CA regulations and permitting issues.
* Operated membrane filtration pilot plant, sampling and analyzing pilot effluent. Assisted in the pilot installation, start-up, maintenance and trouble-shootings.
* Conducted a pilot study on digester upgrade - Poultry Blood Digestion Pilot Study, compared full-scale digester data with pilot data, evaluated project feasibility, prepared reports and documents for the presentations to FDA.
* Conducted activated sludge analysis and data reduction in a selector study to improve activated sludge settleability.
* Assisted the planning and design of new vortex grit chambers in the plant, prepared documents and equipment specifications.
* Collected and analyzed wastewater treatment data, landfill leachate, and septage data for an ammonia source control project in North Richmond Water Reclamation Plant.
* Participated in a plant test on Primary Sedimentation Tank odor control, conducted sampling and H2S, Cl2 measurements, also evaluated the efficiency of ferric chloride dosage based on the plant operational conditions.
* Conducted a digested sludge dewatering test to evaluate the performance of thermophilic and mesophilic digestion processes.
* Conducted wastewater sample analysis using EPA methods, such as: color, turbidity, TSS, BOD, COD, ammonia, ortho-phosphate, etc. Familiar with wastewater sampling methods, sampling apparatus, and laboratory equipment.
* Cooperated with plant engineers, operators, and laboratory personnel on project schedule, cost estimation and purchase.
* Wrote O&M Manuals for plant Primary Sedimentation, Grit Removal System, Plant Utilities, and Scum Handling Facilities. Developed intranet website.
