BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The majority of my experience has been in Open Cut and Underground mining (Base Metals); with a technical background in Mine Surveying, and experience in Drill and Blast Engineering and Site Engineering (UK Construction and earthworks industries).

As an employee I bring a wealth of experience to your company from diverse areas such as mining, earthworks, construction, looking after sub-contractors as well as plenty of enthusiasm and a genuine love of mining. Bachelor of Surveying (2001), Queensland University of Technology, Australia.

Short courses completed.
* S1 supervisory course – Risk Assessments and Safety Analysis.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Computer Software
I am computer literate with reasonable knowledge of several computer packages. I also have an aptitude for quickly picking up a working knowledge of software packages.

General
Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Power Point and Front Page.

Mining/Surveying/Engineering
AutoCAD, Vulcan, SurPac, Minesight, SurvaCAD, Orica Shotplan, QuikSLOPE, and limited exposure to Terramodel, CivilCAD and 12D.

Other
MIMS, ArcView, Adobe Photo Shop 6, CorelDRAW 9 and Visual Basic. I am also capable of writing programs for HP 48 G calculators.

SURVEY EQUIPMENT
I have a good working knowledge of several types of survey instruments, including:
* Total Stations – Geodimeter 620DR Robotic; Trimble 5800 Robotic and a number of Leica models.
* GPS – Trimble 4700 and 4800 GPS systems, including Base Stations, and radio repeaters. Various hand held models.
* Cavity Monitoring – Optech CMS System.
* Deformation Monitoring – Leica 2000A Total Station (Remotely operated with Radio Modem and QuikSLOPE and AutoSLOPE monitoring Software).

WORK HISTORY
Safety is always my top priority. I actively participate in, and have led my departments daily safety meetings as well as being the representative for the Technical Services department at monthly safety meetings when required. I have also been responsible for the competence based testing and issuing of Site Driving Permits.

Current
Since December 2004 I have been travelling abroad and am currently working in the UK as the Senior Engineer for an earthworks and construction project. This work has been on a contract basis with my responsibilities includeding:
* Overall responsibility of engineering on site, including training of junior members of staff.
* Setting up the office record keeping and filing systems.
* Supervision of sub-contractors.
* Short Term Planning.
* Quality Assurance and Inspections reporting.
* Safety, Health and Environment training and compliance (i.e. Written the Site Induction and preparing Task Statement of how works are to be carried out), and associated record keeping.

Opencut Mining
January 2002 – December 2004.
FIFO Opencut copper/gold mine that uses conventional bench mine techniques with face shovels and dump truck fleets. I have been exposed to all aspects of surveying on site.
* Site preparation and survey set-outs.
* Detailed surveys and computer modelling of all mining areas.
* Deformation monitoring of pit walls.
* Production of weekly survey plans, End of Month Survey Volume Reports and computerised volume calculations of benches, ore regions and stockpiles.
* Miscellaneous construction survey work and preparations for ground control for Aerial Photography.
* Purchasing Survey Supplies and Input into budget preparation.

Underground Mining
May 2004 – December 2004 (On Secondment)
Open and Bench Stopeing techniques. During my secondment I have been exposed to many aspects of underground mine surveying including:
* Installation of lasers for heading direction control.
* Mark up for various drilling (Stopes, ventilation, cable bolts, exploration, etc).
* Preperation of Mining Method Instructions – "Heading Memos"
* Stope measurement and void measurement and computer modelling.
* Updating and maintaining computerised survey record of mine workings.
* Other miscellaneous survey pickups and markups.
* Purchasing survey supplies and arranging servicing of instruments.

While on secondment I was sent to another operation. As the sole surveyor, I was responsible for all survey functions at the mine for a one month period.

Mine Engineering
I have gained experience in Drill and Blast engineering by working with and relieving for the D&B engineer when required. My experience in this area includes:
* Planning and Design of Pre-Split and Production blast patterns.
* Design of firing initiation sequences.
* Plan Preparation, Load Sheets, and associated record keeping.

I also have been involved in Short and Medium Term Planning activities for opencut and underground mining.

HOBBIES
My other interests include: Reading (Financial and Investment), Languages (Currently attempting to teaching myself basic Spanish), Cricket and Fishing.
