My work experience as Health & Safety Coordinator/ Administrative Assistant in a unionized automotive environment requires that I hit target dates for multiple tasks that involve Health and Safety, Quality (ISO 9000), Human Resources and Administration duties. I have direct working knowledge of industrial processes, health and safety, and the preparation of procedures in accordance with laws and regulations. My education in Environmental Management has been an asset to apply my knowledge to procedures and processes in the manufacturing environment. I am proficient in report writing, problem solving, and communication. I am successful working in a fast paced and challenging environment where effective communication and the ability to interact with various levels of staff are essential. I am a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a team environment.

Health & Safety Duties
* Maintain Health & Safety policies and procedures manuals. Ensure compliance with applicable Acts, Regulations, and Company/ Industry standards.
* Training and Development co-coordinator for all divisions
* Chairperson of the Joint Health and Safety Committee. Monitor completion of safety minute items. Initiate and follow up on monthly safety inspections
* Review all accidents and incident investigation reports and make suggestions to prevent reoccurrence and aid in the development of corrective actions.
* Maintain Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) compliance, Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and Environmental reporting (National Pollutant Release Inventory)
* Coordinate and schedule third party audits/ inspections, testing and sampling related to Health, Safety and Environmental issues
* Internal Safety Auditor, responsible to complete monthly audit on safety procedures, practices, and policies. Verify findings have been completed.
* Maintain current Fire Safety Plan, Emergency Response procedures, Contractor Safety Review program, and Pre-start Health and Safety reviews.

Human Resources Duties
* Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) claims and costs management. Reduced experience modification rating (NEER) from 3.2 to 0.9.
* Manage WSIB claims, costs, return to work, and issue monthly employee restriction report. Reduced WSIB costs by diligently pursuing employee Return to Work program, coordinating Doctor visits, and following up on restrictions.
* Direct liaison between Human Resources head office (U.S.A) and staff; act as Human Resources administrator.
* Direct liaison between Management and Union representatives. Maintain grievances files, issue grievance responses from management, co-ordinate arbitration meetings, and provide various monthly reports to Union representatives.
* Maintain Human Resources policies and procedures manuals. Ensure compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations.

Administration
* Effectively manage time, multi task and adapt to frequently changing job requirements by re-evaluating priorities, resolving conflict and making decisions.
* Liaise with customers, business associates and co-workers of various levels by applying a strong ability to communicate both verbally and written.
