I oversaw a 10 to 12 person environment, health and safety consulting practice for western Canada and the North. Duties included development and execution of business plans; management of budgets for training, travel, conferences and business development; and human resources activities (i.e. mentoring, training, hiring, discipline). Activities conducted in the N/W region were communicated to various management groups within the Firm, and coordinated as required.* Achievements as a practice leader included the development of an Air Quality service area, development of strategic regional and national clients, and exceeding key performance indicators – such as profitability.

* Lead auditor responsible for conducting an environmental compliance audit of natural gas distribution and storage facilities throughout Manitoba.

Air Quality

* Managed an odour assessment of a rendering operation in Winnipeg. Objective of the project was to address elevated odours to reduce community complaints. Project results were communicated at hearings chaired by the Clean Environment Commission.
* Managed several air emission testing, dispersion modeling and inventory projects for industrial clients in Manitoba and Ontario.
* Participated in a project team responsible for assessing ambient air quality along a major rail line due to coal hauling operations.
* Completed a Selected Targets for Air Compliance (STAC) report for a pulp and paper mill in northwestern Ontario.

Regulatory Advisor

* Advised industrial clients in understanding and obtaining environmental operating licenses in Manitoba, as well as negotiating with regulators for license amendments.
