Managing / handling medium to large scale petro-chemicals/fertilizer plants/ offsiteplants /Offsite cryogenic terminal from projects to commissionning and running thereafter effectively.
Presently, I am working as Head-Health, Safety, Environment & Fire services in a petrochemical company (Eleme Petrochemicals Company Ltd) located at Nigeria for last Nine Months

In my last assignment, I worked as Head-HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) for four years having involvement with activities like Risk analysis, Process Safety Management, Hazop study, studies on environmental impact, Plant change order (change management), training, awareness programme, preparation of HSE manual, development of HSE intranet, Hazop Software etc.

1. Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd (from April,1998 to Jan'06))

Position- General Manager
Worked in a Naphtha cracker based Giant petrochemicals complex producing polymers of different types and grades and other liquid and liquefied Hydrocarbon.
* Worked for the development of offsite and utility system of whole complex based on basic engineering packages of cracker and polymer plants.
* Effective project integration, Commissioning and operation of OFFSITE, OFFPLOT and Utility system for the whole complex for four years in the level of Dy General Manager.
* Headed Health, Safety & Environment dept as GM-HSE for last four years (before change) with the task of
- Development & Implementation of HSE Policy
- Upgradation & Revision of HSE Manual, Fire Manual, ONSEMP & OFFSEMP Manuals.
- Implementation of integrated HSE management system. Additional responsibility of working as Management Representative. Our organisation is accreditated with ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 certificates.
- Review the completion of all EMP & HSMP activities and establish standardization of all reporting system and documents in the Complex related to above.

Position held: Senior General Manager

Worked in a 600 crore giant petrochemicals company, manufacturing PVC resin using Ethylene dichloride(EDC) and ethylene as feedstock.
My assignment was the management of Project (along with its process engg.assignment) for the development of facilities of cryogenic storage, handling and transport for 200,000 TPA of LPG, right from ship to bulk carrier. Beside this, I was working as head of Operation for Offsite, utilities and existing Marine TERMINAL handling and storing Ethylene/LPG/EDC. The LPG Project was commissioned in 3rd Q,1997.

3. Gujrat Carbon & Industries Ltd. Vadodara (From August 92 to June 96)
MEK Division - a DUNCAN Goenka enterprise

Position: Vice President (Works)
Overall incharge of the MEK division (manufacturing Methyl Ethyl Ketone) from Normal BUTENE as feed stock). Responsible for production, maintenance, technical services, quality control, R&D, Personnel & Administration and coordination with finance and marketing. Successfully de-bottlenecked a near non-operating plant to 120 % capacity utilisation.

4. Gujrat Godrej Innovative Chem. Ltd. Valia (From Sept. 90 to August 92)
Position: Production Manager

Worked as head of all operational and technical activities in a sophisticated multi products chemical plants with a total investment of 170 crores. the main product was ALFA-OLEFIN / FATTY ALCOHOLS and important intermediates were Hydrogen (by steam reforming), fatty acid, and Glycerin. The operating pressures range from high vacuum (3mBar) to high-pressure hydrogenation at 300 Bar.

5. Deepak Fertilisers & Petro-chemical Corpn. Ltd. Mumbai. (From May 82 to Sept. 90)
Position: Dy. Production Manager

Worked as head of production dept. in a natural gas based grass root ammonia plant designed by M/s Fish Engineering Intl. USA & M/s Halder Topse. Worked from project stage, involved in commissioning activities and responsible for streamlining to reach plant capacity utilisation to 110%.

6. Hindustan Fertiliser Corp. Ltd. Durgrapur (Dec. 74 to May 82)
Position: Asst. Plant Manager (Ammonia & Tech. services)

Worked as Shift in-charge/Process Engineer in a Naphtha based steam reformed Ammonia plant of capacity 600 TPD, designed by Monti-edison Italy. Operating experience of steam driven high pressure centrifugal compressors, high pressure (130 bar) gas/oil fired waste heat boilers.

7. ICI Ltd. Gomia (Sept. 73 to Nov.74)
Position: Foreman

Worked in supervisory capacity in plants, manufacturing Sulphuric, Nitric, Conc. Nitric acids and explosive grade Ammonium Nitrate.
