Engineering Wing. Worked in various posts from Trainee officer to Assistant Manager (Civil) till 1996 in various construction and maintenance projects.

Joined in State Government Service as 1st grade D'man in the Water Resources Department in 1996 and attached to the activities of the world Bank Aided Hydrology Project., in the state level circle office with the duties of Drafting and Preparation of bidding documents as per World Bank norms, Tendering of works, and procurement as per world bank norms, pre-bid meetings, preparation of bid evaluation reports etc.

The project was aimed to develop a sustainable Hydrological Information System(HIS) in National level. I had the opportunity to associate with the activities for establishing HIS in the state. For the last few Years I was fully involved in State level HIS implementation activities like creation of Master Data Base, data processing activities, collection of semi validated data from various division offices, validation, completion, and compilations, Processing and Analysis of Hydrological and Meteorological Data, Preparation of Water Year Books, Digitization of maps etc. and data dissemination.
Now our state is also having a good database of Hydrological and Meteorological Data under Water Resources Department.

During this period I acquired better knowledge in Hydrology, Hydrological-modeling, Remote Sensing and GIS related to water resource Management and in data processing softwares. Also I have the opportunity to utilize my previous computer skills to develop certain tools for quantitative assessment of acquired data in Data Processing Centers, which is now the best and effective tool utilized in Data Processing centers under Hydrology Project not only in our state but all over India.

Data Collection using modern equipment and Computer aided data processing was extremely new to the Hydrology Wing of Water Resources Department. Hence continuous trainings and field & desktop assistance were essential to the staff. I was working as Trainer of Trainees (TOT) in data entry, data validation and Processing Hydrological & Meteorological data and all related fields.

State level Data Processing Center (SDPC) is established at Thrissur under the Superintending Engineer, Field Studies Circle and Data storage center at Thiruvananthapuram. There are a number of modern equipments, computer & peripherals and communication systems available in these centers. I am also working as IT Expert for Water Resources Department (Hydrology Wing) in State Data Processing Center, Thrissur, with full functional charge of this SDPC, under Superintending Engineer.

As data collection, entry and processing is a time bound and continuous process on-site help and hand on training is to be assured for smooth functioning of the system. I am also entrusted as the State level Help Desk for clearing doubts and giving immediate assistance to data collection, data entry, validation, Processing and all hardware and software issues, assuring that the system is working smooth.
The help desk is working as an activator for all Hydrological & Meteorological data collection, entry, validation, Processing and analysis and all other related fields through constant contacts with field staff and Divisional & Sub Divisional Data Processing Centers in connection with Hydrology Project.

Help Desk is also in constant contact with National Help Desk & Consultants through Internet for getting latest developments and giving suggestions for improvements.
